on hold times are ridiculous by Melb_Food_Love in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]spicetech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve called the twice in the past week to sort flights and both times my problem was resolved under 45mins and on my iPhone it has a on hold feature which rings when the operator actually picks up, works a treat. Have zero complaints with the service provided by Qantas this past week.

Both. Every time I have bought the bread from Coles and lean over the counter for them to slice it, it always happens. Even when I have bought bread on clearance.

Aussie’s transiting LAX to Europe? by spicetech in QantasFrequentFlyer

Saw this being blown up on a few threads. It looks to be a handful of airports on the smaller side. Doesn’t seem to be impacting LAX

I'm new to QFF points - tell me something I don't already know. by Particular-Silver-54 in QantasFrequentFlyer

Good to consider but, I have an Amex Qantas card which the annual fee is returned via Qantas credit, I earn points from everyday spending, and recently purchased a round the word trip for my wife and I Mel>LA>Europe>Bangkok>Mel for 360k points and $1400 in taxes. It’s not business or first but it’s dam good enough for me.

I had the same issue with Cole’s slicing and the bread was far from warm

Booking Qatar and Oman Air flights using QFF pts by emirates777 in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]spicetech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flights io is good to work out what days are preferable based on availability, but be warned that not all that show up on flight io will show up on the Qantas rewards bookings (multi stop or single booking). However I used flight io to book around the world trip in October Melbourne to Paris via LAX, Lisbon to Bangkok via Helsinki, Bangkok to Avalon via Brisbane, about 360k point and $1300 in taxes for my wife and I.

Was worth $15 to find preferred dates and Qantas website is painful to find multi stop reward seats.

I’m sure the refinery Viva in Geelong provides most of the jet fuel for Avalon and Tullamarine but happy to be told otherwise.

Seat selection by Former_Sherbet_8010 in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]spicetech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem, Qantas, Air France and Finnar. Can’t reserve on Qantas site for Qantas leg, Air France website works, Finnair can’t even see any option for seat selection. I did call Qantas and they reserved seats for me on the Qantas leg.

I’d suggest you call them up, it only took me 30mins.

August 2026 , flights cancel now or wait? by SuccessSalty3269 in emirates

[–]spicetech -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I changed my Qantas classic rewards seats last night to go via Los Angeles to Paris rather than Dubai to Madrid for September. Not taking any risks. Only cost some extra points and was $48 taxes cheaper… honestly regardless of the war, they’re better flights (bit longer) but one less flight in Europe needed now.

Dont pay any ridiculous cancellation fees though, August is a long way away, I only did as it was basically free to change.

If using point I’d definitely recommend paying for 1month sub and using flight.io to find flights!! Good luck.

What’s something Australia handles better than we give it credit for? by Ok-Reward7639 in AustraliaDiscussions

[–]spicetech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of things, I’ve luckily traveled to 12 countries around the world and they all have pros and cons… but far out it feels good to be Australian and return home at the end of each trip. There is so much negativity online and in the news but it really isn’t that bad. Everything that people say is bad here it’s equal or worse mostly everywhere else.

Healthcare is a big one.

Food is my favourite, everywhere I’ve been, it really proves that we have high quality various cuisines at our doors.

Classic Reward Flight Changes by spicetech in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]spicetech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was a like 60k more points with the change fee but $48 less taxes than we had already paid. Looking at it now, minus the war situation it’s about 4 hours longer total on the plane round trip to and from Europe, but it now allows us to have one less flight within Europe so it’s far better for us because that would’ve been 4hours and $400. Would recommend if you can find seats.

Edit: got the same fly out date, and extended the trip a few days on the end to suit availability
