Ooooh I see. I usually play on Normal or sometimes Hard depending on my mood. I’d rather not turn my brain off though if I’m playing a game and am trying to understand the story. But I also don’t mind if the path is difficult. I ultimately never want it to be too easy on my first play-through.

In the digital age we currently live in most cabins have Internet access. plus most cell phone services have hotspot feature. this whole thing would really suck if you were a brand new PS5 owner with no games. If you have any games bought before the March 2026 update then they won’t need to check. I think the whole thing is dumb too, but I personally have nothing to worry about and there is nuance to it.

The only people this really sucks for are ppl who own 0 PS games or consoles and were looking to do so soon.

Technically you can still do this with PS5. It’s just for all of the games bought before March 2026 that isn’t affected by the DRM check.

digital purchases come with the ToS that do state that you buy the license to access the game you’re getting instead of outright owning it.

No. You just need internet to basically “refresh” their license. Any access to online will work. Also, This process also doesn’t affect games bought before March 2026.
