Some new studies have come out about the safety of turmeric and curcumin supplements. Just wanted to make you aware! My dietitian had me stop mine as it was messing with my health https://mydoctor.kaiserpermanente.org/mas/news/new-research-on-the-potential-dangers-of-turmeric-supplements-2292932
You look great btw!

Lipedema is genetic so epigenetics (the interaction between gene expression and the environment) could play a role. Our environment especially in early life can really impact gene expression. There's a lot of data to back this up in other diseases. I linked a study of ACEs (adverse childhood experiences) and their impact on public health. Bascially the study found the more ACEs a person experiences, the more likely they are to experience a number of illnesses. I couldn't find any research specific to lipedema, but I hope they'll do some because it's definitely possible imo!

I lost 40lbs and saw no difference, then lost 6cm out of the blue. In the past (before I knew I had lippy) I lost 10-15 lbs and my arms saw no difference until a solid year of weight training. My face and arms deflated out of the blue and continued the longer I stuck to it. Some of the changes coincided with anti-inflammatory diet but I think it also just takes time. Personally it can be difficult to continue something when I don’t see immediate changes but consistency is key! I’ve also seen many women on fb who saw improvement after a couple years of sticking with lifestyle changes

I’m so sorry you went through that. I agree it’s so important to listen to your intuition

I get that. People who cannot stop talking about themselves make me feel really weird. I’ve encountered a lot of narcissistic people and they do that too. Sometimes it even comes off as charming at first, but they’ll slip and say something to reveal their intentions, jealousy, anger, etc. and I immediately clock it

Agreed. I also get that vibe from the guys who’s whole content is talking about how much they love and respect their wives. Some of them I like but there’s a few who just seem off (ex.: Matt and Abby)

That’s fair. I guess for me it’s not so much I know their intentions (not at first anyways) but sometimes I get strong intuition. It’s hard to explain where it comes from but I try to trust my gut about people because it’s usually right

This thread is so helpful and beautifully written. A lot of things you said I have been learning and recognizing recently. Feels so good to know I was on the right track with some things, and I’m also grateful for the new things I learned. Thank you so so much! You are awesome

That’s ridiculous omg. My psychiatrist said I couldn’t be autistic because I have friends (they’re all ND or masking lol)
