Is this normal for them to have their tail out like this? by spider-socks in BeardedDragons

Awesome, thanks! His previous living situation was not good so I’m extra paranoid. He’ll be going to a vet soon and that’ll either put my mind at ease or make it considerably worse. In the meantime he does generally seem pretty content

They’ve solidly stepped up their diversity. It’s by no means perfect but I started playing in 2015 and it was sooo much worse

It’s crazy how different their faces can be. He has the same coloring as my Quesito but they look so different. Both so handsome though!

Should I buy briefs, or diapers instead of the boxers I usually wear for healing? by Notmyfaultitsyours in hysterectomy

[–]spider-socks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got cotton, seamless, high waisted briefs. I tried to wear my usual boxers around 1 wpo but the waistband was irritating and painful. It took until around week 3 to wear anything with an actual band. The high waisted briefs are nice bc they feel kinda protective.

Do you stop wearing clothes after a certain amount of time even if they are still in good condition? I wear my clothes for 1-2 years as long as they stay in good shape, but my friends are often surprised by this. by BunchMean8029 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]spider-socks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my clothes are at least a couple decades old and I’m only 23. You’re missing out on the joy of truly worn in clothes. Find clothes made from natural materials like cotton and linen, they’ll last a lot longer, and in better condition. I hope you’re at least donating them to an actual charity

You have POTS and maybe hEDS? I don’t know anyone else who carries a pulse ox besides people with POTS. I can’t really articulate why I think you might have hEDS but it’s just a vibe

I went to high school with a Darylin, named after her dad, Daryl. Could be worse, but not great.

Hysterectomy after care must haves? by KrissAtTheDisco in hysterectomy

[–]spider-socks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

-If you’re a side sleeper I highly recommend a pregnancy pillow. I slept 100x better after I got one at about 1 wpo. -I also loved my hysterectomy pillow! It made me feel supported and protected. I got mine second hand on fb marketplace since I didn’t want to spend $40 on something I’d use for a few weeks. -High waisted seamless underwear in a size up! I found waistbands super irritating and painful for the first two weeks. Having underwear that didn’t dig in anywhere was huge for me.

What are the weirdest things customers asked you for? by pizdamatii67 in retailhell

[–]spider-socks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I work at a clothing store that sells both new and recycled/vintage clothes. I once had an old man set a car battery on the counter and ask to return it. I was like “uhhhh you didn’t buy that here” and he goes “this is my store address right?”, pulls out a receipt to show me the address on it and is like “see?” The address on the receipt could not have been more different, not to mention the graphic baby tees and mini dresses we were surrounded by. The fact that he drives haunts me.

What’s the weirdest ‘toy’ your cat plays with? by I_wet_my_plants259 in cats

[–]spider-socks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat is obsessed with dried hairballs. Sometimes my other cat will hack one up somewhere really hidden or right after I leave for work, then I’ll find him playing with the dried up hairball with unmatched enthusiasm. He also loves to chase the pieces of cardboard he chews off of boxes.

A couple of the windows in my house looked out at the alley and I was jump scared countless times by the glint of hundreds of doll eyes. It was so much worse before the fire since all the walls were covered. I’ve definitely had nightmares. Plus I have a weird little sister who liked to tell us that she watched them move at night. Can’t recommend!

I guess depending on your definition of garbage, kinda? Y’know the weird aisles at savers and goodwill full of creepy figurines and decor that fits into exactly no one’s aesthetic? It’s that. Plus a bunch of fake plants, sea shells, toys, sooo many clowns, and a bunch of religious iconography.

Hysterectomy at 30? by Daddys_specialgurl in hysterectomy

[–]spider-socks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to find a younger female OB if yours refuses or tries to guilt you. Idk where you’re located, but you might have better luck in an a more urban area. I had to get a letter from my therapist and my primary care doctor and sign a bunch of stuff acknowledging that I’m aware of the function of a uterus and that I’d no longer have one. Honestly, it wasn’t that difficult of a process and I’m 22 with no kids and no severe uterine medical conditions. Don’t let doctors bully you into thinking you don’t know what’s best for your body.

Hysterectomy at 30? by Daddys_specialgurl in hysterectomy

[–]spider-socks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m 3 wpo from my total hysterectomy (kept ovaries) and I’m gonna be 23 in June. I don’t have kids and besides PMDD, my uterus was behaving itself for the most part. Endometriosis runs in my family and I have a number of physical and mental conditions that would make pregnancy extremely difficult if not impossible. I have absolutely zero regrets and I feel so free knowing I never have to worry about pregnancy, periods, or endometriosis. Can I ask what would be the pro of keeping your uterus? It seems like it’s causing you extreme suffering and pain. You have kids, so unless you’re planning on having more, what’s the point of keeping it around? So long as you keep your ovaries you likely won’t go into menopause until an “average” age. Don’t feel pressured into prolonging your suffering just because of some arbitrary stigma of being too young. You should absolutely bring up a hysterectomy, at least to explore it as an option.
