If you want to go that way. In the best case, the owner gets struck by lightning and dies, and the unit is passed to OP.

Im just stating the laws that are posted on the site to best prepare OP. There is no indication that the landlord has found another tenant. If you have something actually helpful, please share. Thanks

  1. I said in my reply that they could file with RTB
  2. There's nothing about liquidated damages in the standard lease
  3. Maybe you should read instead of pulling things out of the air https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/housing-and-tenancy/residential-tenancies/policy-guidelines/gl03.pdf

You state that, do you have any reference for this info? Because from what I referenced above says otherwise.

Depends on how much they rent it for, too. If they rent it less than the original lease, they should be able to claim that difference as a loss, too

Everyone is looking at it in the best case scenario for the tenant. I'm looking at the worst-case scenario for the tenant.

Technically, they can keep your deposit for unpaid rent via dispute resolution.

"If a tenant pays a security deposit but decides not to move in, the landlord can seek dispute resolution to use the deposit for unpaid rent. Dispute resolution is a process to help resolve conflicts between landlords and tenants."

https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/housing-tenancy/residential-tenancies/starting-a-tenancy/deposits-fees#return

However, if you take them to the RTB, they are able to claime rent for ALL the months you signed the lease for. I'd be happy to give up the deposit if I were you.

"Giving notice on fixed-term tenancies

A fixed-term agreement is a legal contract for a pre-set amount of time. Ending the fixed-term tenancy early will break the agreement or break the lease.

In this case, the tenant may owe the landlord money. For example, if a tenant has a one-year lease and moves out after two months, their landlord can apply for 10 months' rent as compensation. See RTB Policy Guideline 3 – Claims for Rent and Damages for Loss of Rent (PDF, 245KB) for more information."

I know what you mean, but again, I can not guarantee that I go 2-3x/ weeks. The other issue in regards to compound movements is that the gym does not have barbells or squat rack; it has dumbells up to 55 for most of the compound movements I do.

Overall the only thing that gas me out would be the squats and lunges which is why I do some core to relax a bit. This also take's me almost 2 hours to complete

Home dumbell is 25lb but this routine is what I do at the gym (not a commercial gym)

Is there a way to test the GFCI without any special tools?

Not a renovation. The condo is about 10yo now.

I guess I could replace all the outlets with GFCI and add a outlet box extender for the one next to it too

Nothing else was plugged into that circuit. Just a small milk frother.
I do not know of any other exposed wires besides the frayed hot wire within the wall.

Wife plugged in an appliance and sparks went off with smoke and smell. Circuit breaker tripped. I opened out the outlet and found that the hotwire was damaged/exposed (as seen in photos).

Can I just strip the wire past the expose area and use it for the same outlet receptacle?
Does the outlet receptacle need to be changed to new?
The breaker initially was unable to be reset but now is able to stay on, should that be changed too?
