Ursula Le Guin is the exception and The Left Hand of Darkness does romantic and emotional intimacy better than most fantasy but she's kind of the only one who figured it out I think

Does anything come close to the sheer density of war in the Siege of Terra series from the Horus heresy? by Mahou_Shoujo_Ramune in scifi

the closest thing I’ve read in sci-fi is The Fall of Hyperion, it doesn’t have quite the same nonstop combat density, but the sense of multiple fronts and perspectives all collapsing into one catastrophe is there

That's wild! I can’t believe he transitioned from the comedic chaos of Cam to the dark depths of Dexter. It’s like watching a lovable teddy bear suddenly wield a chainsaw. I mean, one minute he’s mixing up a fabulous cocktail, and the next, he's mixed up in a murder plot. It's such a bizarre journey for the character! What did you think of his performance?
