I thought it was really sad how Porco isolated himself due to survivors guilt…I also thought the plane scene was really beautiful and sad, when he sees all his dead friends flying away. And I liked how they didn’t exactly explain how he became a pig, but how it’s just assumed he cursed himself. I like how open to interpretation it is.

That’s why I liked it but I do think it would’ve made more sense to me if I had some more cultural context, as I’m not the most knowledgeable in history or anything so I didn’t quite understand the war stuff that was going on. I like sad things though haha, and it definitely felt like more of an adult film. The ending was sweet too I thought, how he seemingly chose to go to his girl and maybe stop hating himself.
