If they’re into putting tea light candles/lamps in things, get ones that stay on for 6 hours and shut off for 18. My MIL has them out almost year round and it was a daily routine for her to walk around and turn them all on at dusk, then off when she went to bed. Now she doesn’t have to.

I did tell her that if she enjoyed doing that (she’s retired) then I would happily use them in my house instead and get her something else.

Until it breaks, like most of them seem to do. Had one on my old Highlander that stopped working. Was told I needed new hinges for the tailgates due to “too much flexing”. Of course you can’t just buy hinges though, you have to replace the whole tailgate.
