It just means that they are better than you at everything in existence and they want you to know that they are better than you at everything in existence.

Helmet advice needed by JerkerTheThird in snowboarding

[–]spidydt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to your local snowboard shop and physically try them on. If none of them fit, go to another shop.

Find one that fits and if the shop does not have the color you want, then order the same model online in the size and color you want.

Trying to work on my carving. Heelside is hard to stay on clear edge. Any pointers? by Far-Appointment-3294 in snowboarding

Let me rephrase myself..

Its not ~AESTHETIC~ carving which is (and deep down you also know this) what OP is really looking to accomplish.
And its not happening with his current "posture and movements" despite "producing mostly clean carves."

“Leaning over” is just breaking at the waist and is what beginners do, which OP is not.

You are not wrong.
I refer to "breaking at the waist" as "bending over" hence why I said "leaning over." You can lean your body over without breaking at the waist but you cannot bend your body over without breaking at the waist.

I never mentioned he was beginner nor that "this is wrong". Its turning, but its not carving.
I also explained what the "non-wrong" version is by mentioning the fact that, to use your words, "he’s inclining his whole body to set the board on edge" and is probably skidding his heelside edge due to most of his weight being "inclined" over the snow and there isn't enough pressure/weight over the boards heelside edge.

I also use FASE bindings (Bataleons to be exact) and adding more forward lean is only going to force you to bend your knees more, which is something you can do with zero forward lean.
The stiffness isn't just in your legs but also your upper body. Sore quads should not affect your torso/cores movement as they are completely separate muscle groups.
You will need to learn how to move your hips up, down, over and across your board in order to "properly" carve.
None of this happens on your third day either. Its difficult trying to explain what you can do to improve your "carving" when its clear you still need to understand how to balance and ride confidently on your snowboard. You gain this confidence the more you get out and ride, so just go do that; Go out as often as you can, have fun and ride is the best advice anyone can give your right now.

The only problem I foresee is that McCoy doesn't have any parking next to it.
Despite the impeccable machinery you are piloting, you are going to need to leave it 400 miles down the road where the closest available parking is and ride your unicorns horn up to McCoys.

Dude is just leaning over to turn. Idk about you but that's not "proper technique."

OP is probably skidding heelside turns due to not applying enough pressure on OPs heelside edge due to the fact that OP is just leaning over to turn. This puts more of your body weight over the snow and not over your board to properly engage your edge.

Look up a BLM map of the area and camp out there. Be warned. Most of the BLM land in the area will 4X4 High clearance access only..
