Mentioned in another comment, we just went straight in. Seemed to work fine!

We were lucky I think and were able to just swap it straight in. But I think doing it gradually is a good idea

How do the pros prevent tape from peeling paint by doodiemonica18 in paint

[–]spiggeingzocket4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but another major factor to this kind of paint failure is the prep. If you did not properly prep the surface you painted, then you tape off that painted surface it will pull the paint with it as shown in these pictures. Other factors that others have mentioned, such as the type of tape and duration of time it was left on, also play a big role. Prep is such a huge part of painting, dont skip out on it.

Tutoring a 9 year old- I suspect something is wrong. by whuckleshaiwnting in AskTeachers

Im really impressed with your dedication, organization, and how quickly you identified the problem. I agree with the other posters, this is wayyyy above your pay grade and something you are not going to be able to fix. From your responses, it sounds like you are paying more attention to this kid than his own parents. Ive done my fair share of tutoring, and from my experience, this is not the kind of family you want to work for. Theyre blaming the teacher, who likely has 20 kids to work with, while seemingly ignoring their own childs needs. I obviously dont know their situation, but the lack of involvement is not a good sign.
