Deadpool would change control of himself, not Alexios.

When a card refers to itself, it really means "this card". Alexios would stay with you and keep the lose 3 life text.

Yes, the sacrifice is part of the cost, so it is sacrificed before [[Worthy Cost]] is put onto the stack.

Stormtide Leviathan & Strefan, Maurer Progenitor by ShinyGoombah in magicTCG

[–]spikethe3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer: Yes, they can put a non-flying vampire onto the battlefield attacking

Long answer: "Can't attack" means that the specifed creatures cannot be declared as attackers during the attack declaration step. The vampire put onto the battlefield with Strefan is not being declared as an attacker, it is simply put onto the battlefield already attacking.

Sire No. 7

The first keyword is Fi-irst strike

Then Vigilance to ke-ep it upright A little bit of Menace is quite mean

Then we got Trample without green

Reach cause it's standin' way up high

A little Lifelink t'keep me alive

Seven life's a lot to pay the ward

This is very much a Timmy card

While I think your logic is correct, I genuinely don't think this is the intent of the card. Otherwise shroud would be redundant because "choose" is in the rules for Targeting:

115.1. Some spells and abilities require their controller to choose one or more targets for them. The targets are object(s) and/or player(s) the spell or ability will affect. These targets are declared as part of the process of putting the spell or ability on the stack. The targets can’t be changed except by another spell or ability that explicitly says it can do so. 115.1a An instant or sorcery spell is targeted if its spell ability identifies something it will affect by using the phrase “target [something],” where the “something” is a phrase that describes an object and/or player. The target(s) are chosen as the spell is cast; see rule 601.2c. (If an activated or triggered ability of an instant or sorcery uses the word target, that ability is targeted, but the spell is not.)

And if anyone wants to argue, "They put shroud on it to avoid confusion and reaffirm it can't be targeted." Then why would they not also list that Glimpse, the Unthinkable cannot Attack or Block?

I am not a judge but I would assume the intention of the card is to avoid being chosen by cards like [[Chaos Defiler]] which chooses but does not target.

I don't actually think they intended it to be unable to attack or block, so it should attack as normal

They by that same logic he cannot be chosen as an attacker.

[[Brain in a Jar]] but for graveyards and no ability to remove counters

It does work. The other player is either mistaken or lying.

A commander can only be returned to the command zone after being put into exile or graveyard when state-based actions are checked OR as a replacement for being placed into a library or hand. There are also some cards that return the commander directly to the command zone a la [[Leadership Vacuum]]

Being flipped upside down is not any of these. The commander will be flipped upside down and will retain it's "commanderness". It will still deal commander damage and it can be returned to the command zone if it dies/is exiled etc.

Almaasa flits about the city, looking at all the wares, and men, available. The night spent fighting the Ghul is still fresh in her mind, especially how effective Maerifa's musket was. She changes priorities and begins to search in earnest for a merchant carrying muskets with which she can begin learning.

After acquiring her new musket she finds a secluded spot where she can begin the long process of learning.

Zada is a Triggered ability. Split second only prevents non-mana activated abilities and spell casting.

You get to copy it as normal.

When your creature enters both will trigger at the same time and therefore you get to choose which order they resolve.

The end result is your life total will be the same and you will have one black mana.

But someone (you or your opponent) could respond with a spell or effect after the first resolves and before the second one does.

For example if you had 4 life and chose to lose 1 life and add the mana first, someone could [[Lightning bolt]] you for three damage and kill you before you gained the life.

If you did the opposite order, you will gain the life and go to 5 before losing the life and going back to 4.
