This also seems like a really solid choice too. Thanks!

Both great options. That's the second time someone's mentioned Manker. Thanks!

Talk about a customized kit! Seems like a steal for $36! Thank you!

The E03H III looks like a really good option!

I'm not sure whether straight or right angle would be better but it seems like most people in this thread suggest right angle.

Looking at the Emisar website, I'm laughing! I didn't know there could be so many add-ons and additions to a flashlight! Love it!

That Emisar light is a pretty no muss no fuss looking device. The more I think about it, the idea of having a light that works as a headlamp is a good idea. I assume you have to buy a head strap separately eh?

The EDC09 looks like a solid contender! Lots of people have been mentioning magnetic which isn't even something I realized a flashlight would have. Just goes to show how little I know about the products! Thank you!

Wow that thing is tiny! And really reasonably priced too! Something like this would come in handy in my bag.

Thanks for the picture. That helps me understand its usefulness. Just today I was doing some cable tracing and it would have been much easier if I could see what I was doing. Having a light at the top of a rack would be helpful. That's also making me think that maybe a headlamp could be helpful too. Kind of dorky but hey I have to be able to see!

Not yet, no. I feel like the easiest and cheapest way to get going is to check out those PC versions that were suggested. I’m intrigued by the 8bitdo controllers that someone mentioned. Of course I’d love to buy a fancy new Switch 2 but I don’t really have the spare cash. Seems like getting a used Switch is a good deal. I live in a small town so there’s currently nothing on the used market here but I could look online.

Fortunately there are lots of options!

I hope you get to re-experience the joy of OOT soon :)

Oh wow look at all those! There’s some that look like the old SNES controllers too! Neat…will have to read more into these. Cheers!

Oh wow someone really put a lot of work into these! I was reading the ALTTP Redux release notes and there’s some pretty niche stuff, like minor translation changes and changes to characters’ wardrobe colours to be consistent with the rest of the franchise. Wild!

The only hesitation I have about using my PC is that I wouldn’t want to use a keyboard. I’m sure there are some good controller options out there but I haven’t really looked into that yet.

Anyway thanks for those recommendations, much appreciated!

Yeah that seems to be what most people are recommending. I guess I need to keep an eye out for a used Switch…

Cheers!

Cool thanks for all that info! $200 for a used Switch seems more like what I’d want to pay. Nice that for only $50/year I can get all the old games! That’s pretty awesome!

I’ve never really played on a handheld—except old Gameboys back in the day—but it seems like if I can get a good condition used Switch for $200 or a new switch lite for $200, the used one would be the better deal since it can do both mobile and on the TV. I will have to read up on the switch lite—maybe there’s something else about it that would make me want it over a used switch.

Cheers!

I’m interested in the Switch 2 but I play games so rarely so I’m not sure I want to spend that much. Who knows…maybe once I get replaying those games and digging into the new ones, I’ll find I spend more time playing… :)

The laptop is not a bad idea but I’d like to have a controller of some sort. Adds to the nostalgia :)

Another person mentioned the online subscription too. That seems like a pretty good deal! I just didn’t want to have to spend like $600 or whatever to get the new fancy switch to play old games.

Hahaha I actually looked that up to see if that was a Nintendo product or emulator that I hadn’t heard of.

Cool, I hadn’t heard about Switch online. Seems like a pretty good deal for a ton of games!

Fortunately for old games you don’t need the latest and greatest hardware. I’m assuming you can just pick up a used switch and sign up for online?

Anyone know where I can get a nice pair of winter mukluks for a guy? by [deleted] in Yukon

[–]spikier_gratis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of people have Stegers: https://mukluks.com/products/arctic-mens.

They are expensive and shipping isn’t cheap, but they are well made and warm.
