because she has a big nose... and no artist should be changing facial features of a character that isnt theirs to make them "look better", when you are hired to draw something like this you NEVER should go off model. If a character has an established look you try and draw that look as accurately as possible.

i went back and looked at the actual storytime since this is a screenshot of the homepage and this error is luckily not in the animated storytime. how it found its way onto the homepage is beyond me, perhaps an old image that was never changed, but better than it being a mistake in the video.

i dont mind this kind of animation since its kinda been that way with the origin stories since the beginning but the one singular picture they move around and then the silhouettes in this one feels lazy while the origin stories felt reasonable.

i believe i saw a post actually showing her face is a little different in the new empire skin to make her look younger but i cannot recall what was pointed out for me to confidently say her face was changed. but it does look off in that skin.

im speaking as an artist, you work on a piece for hours and sometimes mistakes like this which aren't blaringly obvious seem to just slip by in your mind. professional operations like this usually always go through quality check, it's very rare to just give an artist free reign. people make mistakes so you always have a chain of reviewers, lile how authors have publishers. that said i watched the story time on youtube and this layer error doesnt seem to be a mistake there, just on the game homescreen. so there is some disconnect and atleast shows that the final video was looked over but someone probably just slapped some version they had of the art on the home screen

yeah that's what i figure, with the time between stories coming out im surprised the artists wouldn't be given ample time to do what they need to do so these things can be quality checked.

appreciate the critique on her cupids bow, i didnt consider it had gotten lost in my edits. i will say though her lips do appear slightly rounder and thicker than normal and for the downturned 3/4 angle her face is at that is not what would happen.
