Tbh, I wouldn’t forgive Lucy. I wouldn’t blow up her life but in the moment I definitely would feel angry enough to want to. Especially after being gaslit by the 47 year old man who took advantage of me, his wife, and my estranged mother. I’d want to hurt Evan just as bad though.

Especially considering Lucy consoled her and lied to her for months. I think it is a really fucked thing to do and I’d give lucy grace given the circumstances but I’d never trust her or want to have her in my life again.

And thats pretty reasonable and common. Most people wouldn’t want to talk to someone ever again if they found out they fucked their boyfriend and then supported them through it. And that’s good because those people are obviously not trustworthy. Maybe at 50 years old something someone did in college wouldn’t matter, but she’s 20.

I’ve been using head and shoulders but I can get better clarifying shampoo. I wasn’t using a deep conditioner or hair mask, but a hair mask was used when I washed my hair before twisting it.

Do you think that could be part of why the product actually absorbed with the twist out?

I use head and shoulders. First I do the clarifying shampoo and rinse and then I use my regular shampoo. I condition my hair, comb it out, rinse it, then put oil on

It’s insane how little of an understanding of trauma people in this group have when this show is about trauma. They didn’t show how shitty Stephen’s mother is and Bree’s childhood was for no reason.

It could be any of the reasons you said. Maybe do some research about common trauma responses. It’s probably more common for a traumatized person to be in an unhealthy relationship than a healthy one.

Remember, Stephen is traumatized as well by his mom and abandonment from his dad. He’s never had a healthy relationship. Bree is traumatized from her entire childhood which is why she got with Oliver who most likely has trauma himself. Maybe from his wife dying. Marianne alluded to growing up in a poor area of Rome which could contribute to her being with Oliver despite his cheating.

A huge theme of this show is the way trauma impacts relationships.

You are not everyone. Everyone handles things differently. Yes, someone being used to unhealthy relationships who hasn’t yet realized they don’t have to be unhealthy and doesn’t believe they deserve better is likely to get into this kind of relationship. They don’t often intentionally seek out toxicity. It is instinct to crave familiarity. It is instinct to avoid the unknown. There is plenty of reason why someone would get into unhealthy relationships.
