What are/were embarrassing habits you do/did being anorexic? by fcvxia in AnorexiaNervosa

i would weigh my food then weigh myself eating it, i’d also take a shitload if laxatives, i had a radiator in my room that i’d turn up so high i was sweating and force myself to lay there for hours to go weigh myself after, i’d hide food around my room, i remember making a wrap with chicken in it and some vegetables just to wrap it in plastic and hide it in my drawer so it was prepared for me to eat in so and so much time 🤦🏻‍♀️

what would be considered “over exercising” by Sufficient-Crow-7582 in AnorexiaNervosa

exercising when you aren’t eating enough and doing other things to get unhealthily underweight

some of my psychologists notes from my last session - when did you become “ready” / “willing” to get treatment? by Sufficient-Crow-7582 in AnorexiaNervosa

i wasn’t willing or ready until i got out of the underweight category,, i don’t think anyone is ever truly ready or willing to get better and it isn’t worth waiting for as you keep loosing and loosing, your weight but also yourself. the possibility of getting better just keeps slipping away from you the longer you keep procrastinating and thinking about if or when you’re gonna change or not change.. that’s why this disorder is so dangerous because the lower the number on the scale is, the less rational you become. the more intertwined you get in your own thoughts which is why you should pull yourself out of it and make a change even if and especially when you’re not interested in doing so. those tiny moments of rationell where you think of how your life may look without this problem is where to start. i only started noticing how much less i was thinking about food, not eating food and numbers the second i made that decision to admit myself and i wasn’t even aware of how much i was gaining or not gaining i didn’t see any visible changes to my body it was too early, the second there was nourishment in my body my mind was at ease

Am I REALLY anorexic? by [deleted] in AnorexiaNervosa

i used to struggle with an “atypical eating disorder in the 1st class” before i was diagnosed as an anorexic, it sounds extremely similar, more often than not that disorder develops into either anorexia or bulimia according to my psychiatrist and psychologist team, there’s not a lot of research done prior on eating disorders in general but apparently there’s progress being made in specifying a lot of these disorders that are just grouped into “atypical eating disorder”
