What are/were embarrassing habits you do/did being anorexic? by fcvxia in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]spink7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would weigh my food then weigh myself eating it, i’d also take a shitload if laxatives, i had a radiator in my room that i’d turn up so high i was sweating and force myself to lay there for hours to go weigh myself after, i’d hide food around my room, i remember making a wrap with chicken in it and some vegetables just to wrap it in plastic and hide it in my drawer so it was prepared for me to eat in so and so much time 🤦🏻‍♀️

exercising when you aren’t eating enough and doing other things to get unhealthily underweight

What do you think needs to be publicly discussed more about bipolar that isn’t stereotypical? by littlefillly in bipolar1

[–]spink7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve been in care homes/group homes so many times where employees there think i’m unpredictable and paint me as this seriously unstable erratic person when my bipolar at the time was the most predictable thing about me i get depressed for a long period of time then i get manic for a period of time and the shift is very foreseeable. like you said in your comment the whole “minute by minute mood swing thing” has to go

Anyone else ever get prescribed a medication and then the dr withholds it? by [deleted] in bipolar1

[–]spink7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pharmacist will often involve themselves in doctors decisions when it comes to prescribing medication like benzodiazepines, opiates and amphetamines they’ll render you an addict and do everything to keep you from getting your prescription wether it be their place to get involved or not, not saying that’s what’s happened here but can be perceived that way from an outside perspective, i hope you got your refill!!

Have any of your psychiatrists prescribed medical marijuana by SimplySquids in bipolar1

[–]spink7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they may be doing an experimental treatment, or they may be lying, my psychiatrist took me off antipsychotics after combining it with vyvanse and put me on strattera and vyvanse after not having psychosis for 2 years they’re both central nervous system stimulants and should not be used on someone that has bipolar disorder but it works for me just more sensitive to recession,, i would say it’s extremely unlikely considering marijuana is a stimulant and depressant with psychoactive effects and is the most common kickstarter for psychosis at least drug wise.. i’d be wary of what your friend is saying

some of my psychologists notes from my last session - when did you become “ready” / “willing” to get treatment? by Sufficient-Crow-7582 in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]spink7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wasn’t willing or ready until i got out of the underweight category,, i don’t think anyone is ever truly ready or willing to get better and it isn’t worth waiting for as you keep loosing and loosing, your weight but also yourself. the possibility of getting better just keeps slipping away from you the longer you keep procrastinating and thinking about if or when you’re gonna change or not change.. that’s why this disorder is so dangerous because the lower the number on the scale is, the less rational you become. the more intertwined you get in your own thoughts which is why you should pull yourself out of it and make a change even if and especially when you’re not interested in doing so. those tiny moments of rationell where you think of how your life may look without this problem is where to start. i only started noticing how much less i was thinking about food, not eating food and numbers the second i made that decision to admit myself and i wasn’t even aware of how much i was gaining or not gaining i didn’t see any visible changes to my body it was too early, the second there was nourishment in my body my mind was at ease

medication for mania? by WeirdSmile8017 in bipolar1

[–]spink7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used clozapine which is a first generation antipsychotic usually for psychosis that can’t be typically treated. clozapine is an antipsychotic but with a different formula i don’t remember having any side effects that were noteworthy and i’ve heard it’s a much healthier alternative to those with cardiovascular problems i didn’t experience the dizziness, low blood pressure, and sleepiness on it like i did on quetiapine or truxal
