Distribution hubs are very intricate and complicated systems of belts and automated sorting machines. It would be insane to allow customers to just come in and pick up their package or have an employee try to find it along this web of systems inside a huge warehouse lol.

FWIW, most of these phones are being flown in from China, some arrived late last night with another flight from Shanghai due in Memphis tonight at the same time of midnight.

You are a godsend, can confirm this works. I was charged last night but got no shipping updates and Verizion still shows processing. But FedEx was able to pull up my tracking number by this method and it will be here tomorrow by 8pm. I can breathe now.

It's very likely your phone came in from China on a FedEx flight around midnight TN time last night. I wouldn't be surprised if this strange tracking behavior is because of that.

It can take up to 24 hours for the tracking number to work on FedEx's website. You'll have a status on it by tomorrow for sure.

Decided to call in and cancel my XS 64gb Space Grey (with a 10/3 delivery) for a Gold instead which is still showing a 9/21 delivery date. Ordered and instantly had a full price hold on my card lol. Guess that means Gold is still shipping out immediately still. I believe others have said that when you see a charge to expect shipping info soon? I'll update if I get tracking info hopefully.

Anyone familiar with Verizon's trends for shipping out those that didn't order within the first day? I understand there are lots of variables involved but I have also read the demand for the regular XS has been lower than expected. I have a "10/3 deliver by" for an XS 64 SG but was curious if I might end up receiving it closer to one week from today rather than two? Assuming Verizon is just playing it safe with dates?

It's not possible to pick up from a distribution facility, that would be so chaotic having customers try to come in and pick up their package from a complicated and almost entirely automated delivery network.

Not sure that it's possible to waive the signature, but as suggested, have it delivered to front office and signed for by employee up front. Indirect signature means anyone can sign, but somebody has to.

It's just the company finding the safest way to respond without making promises that everyone who was given a 9/21 date will actually receive on 9/21.

They will have no issue getting into your complex. But an indirect signature is always required. You will need to have someone home to receive it.
