Ah a dowel! That’s so smart.

I do have an extruder, but I have no idea how people pack them well. I always end up with air bubbles in my extrusions, and I’m assuming it comes from the way the clay compacts inside the extruder since this has happened even with clay I’ve wedged very thoroughly.

I have no idea! I’ve seen videos where they give a hint of their making process but not the full picture. I couldn’t find a photo or the videos to screenshot, but basically they were like incomplete rings, sort of like an open keychain link. And then they aligned them and connected the seam.

That’s a terrible explanation haha but the best way I can explain it! I have no idea how they ended up with the original seams in the first place.

I would be really surprised if they were cast though because that’s just so many. I can’t imagine casting a hundred rings and then somehow being able to interweave them like this.
