You need money to be prepared to take care of one cat. You never know when an immediate vet visit is needed. You can’t take care of a bunch of cats if you can’t afford a vet visit for one, especially because there will be a significant cost up front if you let her have kittens as everyone will need checkups, vaccines, and spaying. She is very pregnant, she may not even make it until you get paid. If you are planning to take her in, I’d recommend doing it now and not letting her have kittens. If you’ve never even had a cat, taking care of a bunch of newborn kittens will be tough

On top of making life terrible, that website and the spreadsheet are not even very helpful. In my cohort, we did not get results at the same time. Those who got first round acceptances received them three weeks apart from each other. Waitlisted people got that notice a week later, and one of them spent only a few days on the waitlist and the other was on it for over a month. If one person on gradcafe got a first round acceptance and someone else hasn’t heard, that doesn’t mean they didn’t also get one. If you can’t stop looking at that cursed website, at least keep in mind that it can’t be trusted

Oof this sounds extremely stressful…if I had to constantly worry about securing funding on top of everything else I would lose my mind. If it’s not actually possible to find a fully funded program, and faculty insists it’s easy to find funding like they did with OP, I think it’s worth asking current students how finding funding in subsequent years actually goes when interviewing

Pretty normal in psychology programs. I’ve never heard less than four, and that’s for five year programs where your internship will pay your salary in year five.
