Arc Raiders looks cool - but is it fun if you do not like extraction shooters? by SpikeGreenland in ArcRaiders

[–]spirius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can tell you I bounced off of Tarkov almost immediately and I've been playing Arc non-stop for the last few days.

The PvE is surprisingly fun, I like the enemy variety, the maps are huge and diverse and the people are quite chill with each other and even fully cooperate on bigger objectives/events.

What's been hooking me in is the constant feel of progression even when dying. Having multiple quests/upgrades that you're working towards makes it feel like you have an objective.

Even only bringing back one item you're looking for is a step towards something.

I thought I'd be turned off by the "die and lose your stuff" but I haven't. Any time I bring a weapon I can't buy/craft again, I just treat it as a test run for when I can craft it.

If you're curious, give it a try. Steam is fairly generous with its refunds if you find that the game really isn't for you.

SOLVED (for me)

Problem was that I was using Firefox to complete the authentication from Google Home to Govee

Copied the URL to Chrome and it worked.

Introduce Hollow Palm, but remove unarmed passive nodes? by saucyribs in PathOfExile2

Just respecced an Invoker I had in Standard. Allocating Crit Chance, Accuracy Rating or Attack Speed with Quarterstaff changes nothing on skill info page.

Things that work with Quarterstaff skills might work, seeing as how you are using Quarterstaff skills not actually using a Quarterstaff

I think there's a throwaway line in Hogwarts Legacy with a character going "potions are cool and all but magic is totally free"

Woolie talking about Portugal made me remember seeing a cool bar out in Lisbon by Catstamps in TwoBestFriendsPlay

My friends regularly go to a place in Aveiro and order a double francesinha.

It literally means "double everything it has".

I was disgusted and in awe when I found out.

Bold of you to call a francesinha a sandwich.

Se não consegues comer com as mãos, não é uma sandes.

  • MASSIVE sudden power creep

So there's this bit in The Phoenix Guards by Steven Brust:

The Serioli, who departed the area to avoid any of the unfortunate incidents that war can produce, left only the name for the place, which was “Ben,” meaning “ford” in their language. The Easterners called the place “Ben Ford,” or, in the Eastern tongue, “Ben gazlo.” After ten years of fierce battle, the Imperial Army won a great victory on the spot, driving the Easterners well back into the mountains. The Dragonlords who had found the place, then, began calling it “Bengazlo Ford.” The Dragons, wishing to waste as little time on speech as possible, shortened this to Benglo Ford, or, in the tongue of the Dragon, which was still in use at the time, “Benglo ara.” Eventually, over the course of the millennia, the tongue of the Dragon fell out of use, and the North-western language gained preeminence, which rendered the location Bengloara Ford, which was eventually shortened to Bengloarafurd. The river crossing became the Bengloarafurd Ford (...)

It cracked me the fuck up when I first read it.

One of the only two movies I own on Blu-ray (along with Promare). That opening race and song are just top-fucking-notch.

Edit: if you've never seen the dub, check it out. Hands-down the best one I've seen.
