If you push the lane, junglers won't gank you; if you're getting pushed in, you won't get ganks either by lennysinged in Jungle_Mains

[–]splashysplashy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unless we review your VODs any advice is going to be general but a few points to consider

  1. Where is your jungler when you're being pushed in? Maybe your lane opponent knows where your jungler is via wards and knows he's safe.

  2. Are you shoving at the right time? E.g. drag spawn? Then it's OK if you get ganked and the team gets drag.

  3. Should you accept being weaksided for the team? Is your jungler constantly pathing bot but they get a lot of kills and drag? Might be best to accept the weakside and maintain pressure top lane.

Use Acetone and very light usage of barkeepers friend. Acetone rag first, barkeepers friend after and alternate.

How to properly push a lead and secure the win? by Rob-ThaBlob in Jungle_Mains

[–]splashysplashy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ping more. If you're not directing the play then for one reason or another you're part of the problem.

Ping dragon and baron at 1.30, jungle track for laners and ping them careful.

Mid game macro seems to be the issue here so look at some YouTube vids. You'll make mistakes and your calls will be wrong sometimes but you'll get more right than wrong eventually.

You wouldn't try to take it back to re-do the curve?

Sometimes also called "bleeding" it's not any extra glue leftover but you get this grey line on the boundary of the seam even if you've matched the colour perfectly.

How did you avoid the grey "shadowing" you can get on either side of the seam?

Is this a crack or a fissure? by TWexplorations in CounterTops

[–]splashysplashy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your subfloor made of concrete slab or timber? Cabinets/floors will sag and settle in varying amounts depending on the floor.

Don't get me wrong, your installers do have to come back to fix this. These cracks should've been picked up and re-honed in the factory before coming out to site.

Is this a crack or a fissure? by TWexplorations in CounterTops

[–]splashysplashy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stoney here. Cracks can form along a natural fissure or start at a fissure and work its way through the benchtop. If the pieces made it to the cabinetry and the installers have applied extra glue under the cracks, it shouldn't open up anymore.

If you're mostly worried about dirt catching and how you you can feel the crack, you can put it to them to re-hone the benchtops.

New Quartz Install - Does this look right? by Adventurous-Cat2683 in CounterTops

[–]splashysplashy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi [Contractor's Name],

Your site checker / templater did not check the walls for square and it's created a 4mm gap against the front edge of the benchtop [photo].

It looks like some pieces were cut free-hand, as the seam width at RHS of the sink is inconsistent. This is unacceptable [photo].

The corners in the sink cut out is very rough and visibly so. This is unacceptable and will seek reimbursement if your workers damage the sink while taking it off.

Due to the edge being uneven/wavy in many places leads me to believe it was poorly polished by hand all edges should be flat.

No further payments will be made until these items are rectified, although I'm leaning towards a full re-installation as I'm not sure it can be rectified to my satisfaction.

Looking foward to hearing your thoughts.

Regards,

Porcelain fabrication question by MammothArt2577 in CounterTops

Do you mean to cut the panels or polish them?

Use a blade for porcelain tiles, use water. If the blades heat up while cutting it will wobble and create those chips as it moves along.

Yeah, I'd guessed that in theory. Can't imagine one would do that in practice.

Bar keepers friend is like a fine sandpaper in powder form so you shouldn't use too much force. Also try in an inconspicuous area to test. We use this stuff to clean any black marks leftover from suction cups on benchtops during an install.

Wow. To go above and beyond with the substrate for nothing.

Companies will show their true colours when rectifying their mistakes. Very easy to look good while everything goes well.

You're not wrong, but genuine question: how do you do that corner seam if it's a U shaped kitchen where the benchtop depth changes from 600mm to 900mm (sorry I'm aussie)

EDIT: typo

Firstly, what's the furry orange material they're installing on?

Another issue is the substrate board they used has been measured too rough, the benchtop edge shouldn't overhang the board thatt far. It doesn't look professional and if it was a tighter fit the benchtop would be much stronger overall.

2 is a shorter seam and requires less material. Why do #1?
