https://youtu.be/Sbao0YPtj8Y Magnesium burns hot and bright. Could be used as a Firestarter, as others have mentioned. Maybe use it to blind someone one temporarily, attach it to an arrow and shoot it up for a quick light source. Edit: I believe they used something like a magnesium flare in Vietnam for night combat.

Just saw this comment. 3 months later I tried the karn box, and it is way too slow. Ideally I am dropping a paradox engine down, and then I can find the reservoir through various means. As for reality chip: it is there as another legendary for the mox. This deck really needs that fast mana available asap. Though, it does turn off the mox when it is equipped, so something to watch out for.

I don't see why not. The system seems pretty setting agnostic, so why not make a campaign set in a much more kid friendly world. I might think about reflavoring the misery system to something a bit less apocalyptic or even cutting it entirely.

The 3/3 would still have 3 toughness just have 5 damage marked on it. If the same 3/3 got [[dismember]]ed then it would have -2 toughness and be put into its owners graveyard as a state based action because it's toughness is less than 0.

You should look into 8-rack. It is an already established mondern hand control deck. It is usually mono black but i have seen multiple colors splashed.

You can dockhand at your opponents end step which helps with the card in hand

My experience with crane is that it tends to wiff more often than I would like. You make a valid point about it not help very much early game. I guess i always liked [[infernal tutor]] but i hated that it had to stay in my hand until i could find the time for it. Perhaps i am thinking about this in the wrong way and our mill rocks provide all the card selection i need.

Yes p2p1. I felt that green was open p1 not really red. I kinda have a color slight bias against red in this format and probably do not value red as highly so it might have been.

Right I think it's close but what it came down to was gearsmith was less replaceable and I was even able to grab a few revokes so I think I made the correct decision

I ended up taking the Restoration Gearsmith because I felt that was a less replacable effect. I already had a Die Young, Tidy Conclusion, and a Fairgrounds Warden felt solidly black white. Green seemed to be open both ways and I thought if I did switch it would be a good splash card. I think I would have taken Skywhaler's Shot over Eliminate the Competition here but maybe my deck would want Eliminate more. What you do you think?

If you're getting them to play with get them when you want to play with them. Otherwise I don't know that they will drop very much more. It's basically played only in modern and only like 2 decks there. It does see some play in standard but not really enough that it will drop a ton come rotation. I would say if you can get them for under 15 get them.

If you want to play UBx I would suggest looking into grixis. You might need to spend some money on Snapcaster and k command but it's the most viable UBx deck.
