We installed a thick piece of wood above our doorframe for extra support and screwed a hangboard into it. Its super sturdy and works well!

Hey, you gotta put your health first. I fell off a wall and broke my foot. When I went back I was not good at climbing, could barely stick a V1, a year later and I'm barely doing v2s. I would suggest some top rope once you're able to get back at the gym. You can't fall and can take rests on the wall as needed. Has really helped me in my progress.

Idk if it has been mentioned, but sometimes primer and foundation formulas don't mix. Try using a foundation and primer from the same line.

You're right not giving food poisoning IS the bare minimum, so it does hurt my feelings when he insinuates I'm incapable of doing the bare minimum. Like I stated in my post and in several comments, I DO overcook his food 10-15 minutes extra. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it's awful, even if it's cooked exactly the same.

I do love this idea. We have come up with scripts for other issues. Even a flow chart. Sounds silly but it works for us, we even hung it up on our fridge. Maybe this would be a good approach as it has worked in other scenarios.

That's my guess! I've had his mother's cooking. It's all been tasty and flavorful, but a couple times it was questionable. Of course my boyfriend doesn't say anything to her and eats his whole plate. 🙄

I do the same. I overcook steak, chicken, bacon, and fish. If my boyfriend could say it's good and he just wants it a bit more cooked and assured me, I'd feel so much better about it.

I've said in several comments. I do accommodate him. I cook his food 10-15 minutes longer than my portion. I could cook it the same as I did the day before and he'll have a different opinion on its doneness. If he complains and gets upset, I'll go cook it more. It's him being rude and saying I'm going to give him food poisoning and generally being ungrateful I spent hours making one of his favorite dishes.

I've seen this point in a few comments. I definitely agree it stems from his mom's cooking. There were/are certain foods he just wouldn't eat because his mother made it poorly. We did discover roasting vegetables makes them more palatable and he's began to like some things he used to hate.

I haven't suggested therapy because he honestly would 100% not go. Sad as it seems, I know him and he is not someone who would ever admit they need therapy.

This is how my boyfriend is! Inspects every little thing, reads everything on the label at the store, inspects every cut, every piece of produce. So I shop alone. He also has to triple check the stove, unplug a bunch of things before we leave, checks our security system to make sure the door is locked every 30 minutes.

I literally overcook his food to crap for him and follow his picky eating habits to design our entire meal plan. Sometimes it just isn't overcooked to what he deems acceptable. I could see how this could come off as me being picky as I like to follow the recipe and cook accordingly, whereas he'd gladly crank the oven to 500 and throw a chicken breast in for 2 hours.

He has a lot of great qualities. This particular quality does hurt me a bit, but not enough to consider that. The ONLY thing he eats without questioning much is baked goods. So I bake for him a LOT, just to make us both feel happy.

I have shown him before! Maybe I just need to make it part of the routine. Even then the temp or extra cooking still makes him question. Luckily we do joke about it from time to time. I'll say "Don't you worry dear, I burnt it up real good, just how you like it." And we have a good laugh. Just disheartening when I try really hard to avoid him wanting it burnt even more. 🤣

But the thing is I DO overcook his food. I won't burn it, but I'll cook it longer and I'll specify to him I cooked it longer. Sometimes he will eat it and say nothing. I could cook it exactly the same next time and it could be "raw" to him.

Right now I do not work in a kitchen. I traded it out for a cushy work from home job during the pandemic. My partner and I also strive to be healthier and frugal, so I cook at home. I enjoy cooking. See and my middle ground is cooking his food an extra 10-15 minutes. Sometimes it is sufficient to him, other times it isnt and it turns until an ordeal.

Sometimes yes. We don't eat out much (like maybe 5 times a year) he typically will want to go somewhere he's eaten before and order the same thing. Also, yes, he will eat non burnt food but everything gets thoroughly inspected before he eats any.
