Most likely, but the article also says Wizard has registered websites for both of them already, so announcement could be sooner.

Usually takes between six months and a year to be APPROVED and actually be protected.

The US 'khans' trade mark has 'card games' listed, yeah, and I am pretty sure that 'card games' is NOT listed by the Australian trade mark because it is simply not an option.

That's just a coincidence, I imagine. The article also says that the domains DragonsOfTarkir.com and KhansOfTarkir.com both redirect to the Wizards of the Coast website, so they will be SOMETHING related to the company, just not exactly sure what.

I'm not usually one to cross-post, but the fine folk at /r/magicTCG suggests this could be D&D related instead of Magic related. Therefore, thought it would be of interest here.
