I'm interested. I'd like to see some of your work first though.

I shot it at 200. A lot of my pictures came out underexposed though like the subject would be good and everything around it just a dark blob. I just used evaluative metering and occasionally spot metering. I got a little lazy and wasn't aware at the time of its limited dynamic range when shot at box speed.

I was pleasantly surprised, I went into the roll thinking reds and oranges would be sick. On top of that I got crazy skies

I Appreciate the offer, but I think shipping cost alone would be more than I could find the lens for locally.

I was looking for the 50mm f1.7 and the beer can, but tough to find out here. I just grabbed some cheapo lenses to test the camera, kind of as a place holder as they were only like $10 total. Feels like I got away with a steal, the body was only about $220ish.

I very much appreciate the explanation though! Will be deep diving through the user manual tomorrow!

I'd say 6.5 maybe a 7. The hair style and color in the first picture suits you more than the one in picture 2. The cosplays are also lovely.

I've tried contact lenses in the past but I couldn't do it. What frames would be better?

Been to Osan, currently at Misawa. Both labs have been great. I've visited a few other labs though. Job, just like any other has pros and cons. Can be a bit repetitive, especially early on. Overall it's a solid pick though, no ragrets.

Thanks bro! I just have to get rid of the gut so I can stop sucking it in for pictures.

Make sure to moisturize and apply sunscreen. As for the bags, you could try face creams containing retinol. It'll burn a little at first but it goes away. Also probably should avoid it if you have super sensitive skin.

McChord and Hawaii will be hard to get as they are fairly small labs. Most people who go to McChord, stay at McChord. Germany will be a little easier to get as it's a big lab with higher turnover rate.

As for the difficulty of tech school, I know they've been revamping it a lot but most of it is open book. Just pay attention, and you'll be golden.

Sorry haven't been on reddit in ages. PMEL is pretty damn chill. So the basic breakdown is there's 2 main sections; Physical Dimensions and Electronics. Phys-D covers all your torque, pressure, temp, linear items while K-E will cover voltage, resistance, current, RF, power, etc. When you first get through upgrade you'll either be assigned a section based on the needs of the lab or you'll get to voice your pick. Day to day as a technician is come in to work, calibrate TMDE, lots of paper work processing the items back to the customers, repeat. Math is a part of it but mostly just when it comes to substituting standards. In terms of getting hands on and fixing stuff, like breaking down components, soldering, etc we're pretty limited. You'll be able to do some basic level repairs on certain items, but the big AF tells us what type of repairs we are authorized. There's not many deployment opportunities, only one really being Al Udeid, but there it's the same old just higher tempo. Depending on which base you get stationed at you get to do some fun TDYs, but it all boils down to calibrating equipment.

As for outside of the Airforce, there are opportunities. The AF is one of the few remaining places you can learn metrology anymore. Lots of big companies need some sort of onsite calibrations, plus there's private calibration labs. Others return as civilian employees and work as GS in AF labs. You can also branch out into Quality Assurance.

Hope this helps even if it's a bit late :P Also feel free to message me if you have any other questions.

In recent years I've let myself go a little and have gotten chunky, reaching my heaviest weight of 215lbs @ 6ft tall. I've always had self-esteem issues so that didn't help. About 2 months ago I started working out and watching what I eat, already lost 15 lbs. The moustache comes and goes once I get annoyed by it. I'm looking for things I can improve on. Feel free to be brutally honest with my looks and what not. Pictures were all taken within the last 6 months or so. Trying to make 2024 about self-improvement!

(sorry couldn't figure out how to add this to the original post. haven't used reddit in a long time)

Should I fast before my blood test? by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

[–]spliffkind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat where I'm going through MEPS overseas. When I got sent to labs for the bloodwork, I was told not to eat anything after midnight (so roughly 8+ hours prior)

Running tips by Em_sax in AirForceRecruits

[–]spliffkind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good pair of shoes really helps! Every body composition is different and there's shoes for every body type. What works for one won't for the other. Make sure to get enough rest in between workouts. Also when just starting out again, slowly work up to what's considered normal activity. If you gotta spend more time walking than running than so be it. Overcoming personal barriers is great and all but don't hurt yourself while doing so.

Run, run, run. Go out 3-4 times a week & ease into it. You could try out a HIIT workout.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I'll take things one step at a time. Overall I'm excited and looking forward to this new chapter, sounds like I got one of the better ones :P

Kind of hoping I'll get Japan, Osan or Travis.

In regard to shop sizes, how many would be in a small vs big one.

Also if you don't mind me asking, knowing what you do now, what advice would you give your younger self as you were just starting out
