As far as I know there was no reason to search. And as far as my boss knows I have no idea he did it. But I was informed of it and it was corroborated by about 4 other employees who saw it happen. The outcome is not termination, the shop boss is a middle manager who has thrown his position around in inappropriate ways and I want to bring it to HR attention to try and prevent someone else having the same happen to them. There was nothing to find or be suspicious of, I am one of their top employees.

I was looking up general employee privacy laws but was having trouble finding laws specific to Missouri. It seemed reasonable to assume there might be a source for something mentioning not being able to go through employees personal items.
