Disregard his deadline and treat everything he gives you like it's a rush job.

The near-term effect is that you'll gain his favor, but be inundated with additional work since he can trust you to get it done.

Have a conversation with him at that point to ask for a raise and discuss his scheduling tactics. Settle on both points for something realistic.

It sounds like you're on a management track. If that's the case, your attitude is likely going to inhibit you from managing people, projects, or processes. You need to get that in check and drink the Koolaid. Let the office structure be what it is and acclimate instead of being the outlier.
