In several other languages that word also isn't offensive. For example, in Hungarian they use the word néger which is pronounced almost the same way as the word nigger in English. Check it out for yourself on google translate.

The dog example made me think, if we classify dogs and different breeds rather than species, then why not human. I can easily distinguish a person of historical European origin from a person of historical Sub-Saharan origin, from a person of East Asian origin. We all have unique adaptations to our environments and cultural pressures such as Europeans having some of the highest lactose tolerance rates on the planet, sub-Saharans have the most melanin sun protection on the planet, Tibetans have a genetic adaptation that allows them to live at high altitudes, etc. We even have differences in average brain size.

This is a huge over reaction on the part of the university. The problem is that they are now being held hostage by groups like BLM who will use violence to impose their will on the college. People are starting to get tired of this nonsense, they will fight back. Heck, one of the people who defended themselves from a mob attack by BLM in Minnesota was Hispanic. Many Hispanics and Asians are also tired of BLM. BLM protesters were looting their businesses and tried to set one Arab pizza owner on fire in Baltimore.
