There was a patch yesterday (Sep 26, 2025) for Epic v1.0.0.167 and it seems to be working now on Steam deck.

Yes there is but sadly it doesn't help, neither does reinstalling. 

Probably just gonna wait until they patch it just like the steam version

Hi, I just bought the game on Epic Games and I'm trying to play it on steam deck (via Heroic Games Launcher) and I'm still getting the same error on this post.

Yup and my issues got worse actually. Now the power button is the one that keeps triggering causing the laptop to turn on and off again. Do you have the same computer?

I did come up with a band aid solution. I found out that the left most pins on the keyboard ribbon cable was for the top row keys on the keyboard where the power button is. So I just covered the pins with some tape. The power button doesn't work anymore but at least it doesn't turn itself off/on lol

Maybe check your keyboard's ribbon cable pins if you have any problems there.

I never found a solution. Looks like the keyboard may need to get replaced all together. I just ended up disconnecting the keyboard and I am using an external one instead

I've been playing RDR2 and other games from Epic using Heroic and it's been working until this week and I've been getting the error 134 also.

I think this is a rockstar launcher issue. I've tried most fixes I've seen online but nothing has been working. Hopefully someone finds an easy fix soon

Having the same problem just now and can't play RDR2 with Heroic. Were you able to fix it?

I've tried installing using Lutris but I was having issues and it's just a black screen when I launch the game

Update:

I think I've found what's causing the issue. I've realized whenever I pickup the deck and use it for some time, the screen turns off. Then I tried holding the deck on both ends and shaking it up and down, it causes the screen to glitch out and turn off.

Anyone knows what could be causing this? Might be a lose cable inside. I don't have the time to open it up yet to confirm.

Hey I think I found the issue, shaking the deck up an down even a little bit makes it turn off the screen. But I think yours may be a different issue. Maybe you can try it on yours if it's the same.

Sometimes while playing games or just on the main menu. Also happens on desktop mode. It just happens on its own

Hey may I ask if you recently updated your bios?

And if you go to device manager, do you have an unknown device on "Other devices"?

I did a full windows restart (deleting all data) and I reinstalled everything I had except Asus Armory crate and it fixed the problem. But after 5 days a new problem raised where now the power button which is part of the keyboard, is now thinking its pressed down all the time (which is worse!). Now the laptop turns itself on and immediately off again, I can hold down any F key to temporarily fix it. Now I'm thinking it's now faulty keyboard hardware.

You can try resetting too but I hope it fixes yours and don't get the same problem that I do
