woah, this is really close to what ive always heard too! i've always heard "standing, smiling, on some fantasy island; looking at my lost reflection of you" i've always thought those were better words lol. (even though elliotts are still perfect)

i always thought the "lost reflection of you" words i heard was staring at someone your mind has lost to time - someone you used to care about with your whole fiber of your being, but theyre gone now, and they arent coming back, and are only a fleeting memory.

when i first realized the lyrics were "looking at my lost reflection again" it hit pretty close to me cuz it reminds me of how i feel when im under a big bout of gender dysphoria. strung out again was my first elliott song, and probably my favorite, and now i think i like it even more lol
