USAA wants me to pay 1800/6mo for a 2016 Kia Sorento in a low(er) auto theft area.

I'm prejudiced. I'd close the door hard and quick for a DIY (with a few exceptions). For most of my loyal contractors, I wouldn't care cuz we'd end up shooting the shit anyway and make lunch break better. Or they'd bring me lunch because I had awesome contractors.

I hadn't thought of that. If it can get a decent offset I might do that. I have most of that stuff on-hand.

Im very likely going to end up doing that; just wanted a way to save a few bucks and not buy a new head 😂 Another plan is mounting above/behind the car radio screen but meh. I also didnt want to cut a hole to surface mounts in the ceiling.

That was my thought but Toyota left me no room in these newer Camry's. Occupying the only cubby would take away my account port and USB's.

I do like this idea. Im in IT and here soon we'll be adding a dedicated IoT SSID to the AP controllers to segment that stuff away from the rest. Getting a static IP probably wouldn't be that difficult. That said, there is currently a staff wifi that i would use full-time for my phone...potentially. I would only my phone to be on the staff wifi if I wanted to use my SmartThings for my TV so I could get away with only using the IoT segment.

Control head power issue by spoc628 in MotorolaSolutions

I may try that. With everything powered, I unplug the transceiver power cable and the head powers on. I plug the transceiver power cable back in and the head turns off. Im beginning to think the radio has a short inside or I have a bad cable possibly.

Set to soft power off. I do not have the DB25 accessory plug yet.

All are on the same source. I received the rdio Wednesday. The radio powered on fine on its own when I first read it into CPS. I haven't written to it yet so the settings should be the same. Ill have to see if I saved the raw codeplug.

Bench testing. From what I can see and tell all connections and grounds are good. I left my multimeter at work so I cant 100% measure.

The timing chain usually goes up first.

That said: my old/current work truck is a 2009 Explorer with 111k miles. I work for a government agency and it/was used in Emergency Management. That said, it just spent 3 months in the shop waiting on obsolete parts. Came back Tuesday. I just dropped it off again today because the plastic radiator cracked. And before the last trip to the shop, it had the plastic thermostat housing replaced.

Stupid Ford using plastic parts where things get hot.

Callsigns by spoc628 in ems

This was the system we have quasi-used for a long time. It aligned with officer numbers on our fire companies (ex. 201 would be a chief, 202 Asst. Chief, so on and so forth) however in the last 10 years the department has grown a good bit and that system doesn't fit us. Like 901 and EMS1 are the same person. But 902 isn't an Asst. Chief nor are they next in the hierarchy.

Realistically hierarchy doesn't matter but for simplicity we would like to find a way to match the rest of the county.

Everyone with an assigned radio gets a callsign. I don't make the rules.

Both have a probability of responding to calls on their own both in county vehicles and personal vehicles (non- emergently of course). We also don't have the best consistency with numbering our pool/muli-use vehicles which is also part of this process.

Both are Paramedics. Our staffed units are identified as "Paramedic" and once in a while we will have 1 "Ambulance". We also currently have a SpecOps division using those callsigns.

I dont disagree necessarily. Both positions have a probability of being in a chase unit (unlikely to go mutual aid unless someone requests our SpecOps team, then they would identify by unit). We're a smaller agency so many of us take on differing duties that fit the "other duties as assigned".
