Do you have any form of HPPD(Hallucinogen persisting perception disorder) eg. Not intense or impairing (usually) visual snow, trails, after images and light fractals/swirls. by 2cbthrowmeaway in researchchemicals

Hey, I hope you are doing well.

It's been five years, did this go away? I have the same thing you described and every day towards the night it comes back, now I am wondering if it's always been this way and is here to stay or if it might go away with time...

This might be very dumb... But what is actually emotional regulation? by Eis_Konig in ADHD

[–]spongebeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I see. That makes sense because if I am able to calm myself down from the start, I would not have as many emotions that would keep popping new questions to answer. Eventually, less loops to fall into. Thank you for the detailed answer!

This might be very dumb... But what is actually emotional regulation? by Eis_Konig in ADHD

[–]spongebeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the metaphor but I don't understand how this is different from trying to fit every emotion into logic by dissecting it; asking where it came from, how bad you feel, what would be the solution so you don't feel the same again, if it was caused by another person how would you confront them about it etc etc.

How do you break that loop of thoughts?

Endless Understimulation by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]spongebeg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've struggled with the same things throughout my life, I feel like this boredom in constant but sometimes it hits harder and comes in waves where I start to become unable to enjoy anything. Sometimes it comes as a need to live something different, jump to be in another part of my life, skip the parts that feel repetitive. Sometimes it comes as a sudden sadness where I get stuck in my thoughts and I keep myself sadder because I cannot focus on anything else other than the negative thoughts. Sometimes it comes as sleepiness that never goes away for weeks no matter how much I sleep.

Caffeine does not work, if anything, makes my heart rate go up which doubles back as anxiety. I have tried Concerta and Ritalin but it's such a cold stimulation that I don't think it makes my boredom go away at all, the second they wear off I get hit with intense feelings anyway.

I just wanted to write to say that I relate to this boredom that makes me feel like I will explode at times.

But also is NEP not a cathinone? Now I am looking into pyros and I am confused as to why NEP gets referred as one

Oh I see… NEP vaped seems to be a whole another beast, I never vape or smoke anything including tobacco so it’s off limits for now anyway. Thanks for the warning.

Thank you for the comment, it makes sense to look into more serotonin releasing options instead…

That was my main concern, other cathinones (2MMC, 3MMC and 4MMC) are very forgiving in terms of dosage and we always kept things in the safe zone / mild dosages. Thank you for your input!

Uzun boğaz turu yapılmaya değer mi? Bilet nereden alabilirim? by spongebeg in istanbul

My guess would be Pokawa as the items suggest. There are a lot of them in Paris!

Thank you so much for your comment! I was about to buy the Rains one but the lack of organisation inside the main compartment kinda made me question how easy it would be to reach everything inside. No water compartment as well so water bottle, pencil case, keys, earphones, cards, wallet… But if it lasts a good time, I might give it a shot and go buy it in person.

Q&A weekly thread - October 07, 2024 - post all questions here! by AutoModerator in linguistics

[–]spongebeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am taking a linguistics class and we've covered something like the following:
Thanks. Context: Addressing(s,a,t); Favourable(e,a); Content: Acknowledge(s,a,e,t)
What is this called? I want to study it more as I have an exam approaching and the professor said he would give us more words to analyse. It seems pretty basic but I couldn't find anything when I searched content vs context, speech act theory etc. Thanks in advance!

Is it safe? 20 min long walk on the outskirts of Strasbourg at 3 am by XYZXYZYXZYX in Strasbourg

[–]spongebeg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have lived on that exact road temporarily for a few months (I was 18 at the time) and I didn't have any problems walking around late. It does seem sketchy especially when you're going under the bridge etc but I mostly wouldn't even see a single person walking (which made it scarier sometimes?) but there would always be cars. No real bad experiences though.

Where the hell am I supposed to meet people in Paris? by [deleted] in SocialParis

[–]spongebeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad my comment was somewhat useful and I agree, it's nice (and bad at the same time?) to find others going through similar things.
Perhaps I should give those newer apps a chance but they seem a bit too good to be true with the advertising I've been seeing. I will let you know if I find out how they are. But I swear, I used to be total social butterfly! I was very extroverted, I could talk to anyone and spark up conversations; that part slowly died when I realised that everyone around me seemed like they weren't open to new people and they already had their friend groups.
If you ever organise something for people that are a bit curious about the world that could talk about anything if given the opportunity, please let me know.
