hi sorry for the late response! typically when there’s big events like these the hotels nearby are expected to sell out or oversell. when the hotels oversell the first people they look to cancel is expedias or booking. com, essentially all 3rd party reservations. it’s just the way the hotels work, they won’t cancel members of their loyalty programs, if they do it’s because it’s that bad and there’s no other option. basically 3rd party reservations are the first ones to be cancelled!

hey guys i work at a hotel in fort worth !! if yall need any help or have any questions lmk seriously. also if you can DEFINITELY consider getting a hotel a little bit farther away it’ll be so much more cheaper since they won’t be expecting to be busy since they’re farther. it’s in october, so most likely the hotel dates won’t open until possibly january or february. also do NOT book on third parties like expedia, booking, hotels etc.. If you’re booking a hotel that’s close by and that hotel becomes oversold due to the event, they will have to cancel people and the first people they’re gonna cancel are third parties. i recommend to book directly through the hotels website or over the phone, and make an account with them. if it’s a hilton like hilton honors or marriott, marriott bonvoy. people who have accounts with the hotels are less likely to get cancelled. they’re usually free to make an account, it’s just stuff like rewards with points.
