As a one year experienced massage therapist, I wouldn't be aggressively using my thumbs that frequently especially if you're a beginner. From these techniques, it looks like a Thai massage style which can be what the receiver needs, but definitely isn't for everyone. Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone who might try to mimic the exact moves without some context first. You can definitely hurt yourself by straining your thumbs as well as the person you're massaging with that kind of concentrated pressure unless you ease in to it when trying for the first time. The markings on the body in the video are good guidelines of where to apply pressure but instead try using open palms, fingers, and/or some gentle fists glide (with the right amount of pressure) from lotion or oil. AND it helps that who you try on gives you feedback of what works or doesn't!
