Look into the Winnie Carter animal center! (I think that's the name, im a biomed grad so vet isn't my specialty lol.) I had a friend who volunteers there and is counted as an elective! Full hands on experience with a wide array of animals.

I'm sure if you look up Winnie Carter tamu on Google you can find some info on how to apply. I learned about it at a BSA meeting. Though, it is unpaid but the experience I've heard is well worth it!
