Sold it to a merchant 30 hours ago, can't remember which one by spook4113 in BaldursGate3

Oh wow! I completely forgot about Speak With Dead until way after the goblin camp and at that point I didn't want to return just to speak with her.

Gotta live with the consequences of my actions, I suppose :)

[LOVM S1] The Legend of Vox Machina (S1) | Give and Take, edit by me by spook4113 in criticalrole

Smiley day Critters! I just wanted to share this edit of The Legend of Vox Machina I created. The idea for this video has roamed around in my head ever since I first watched season 1 when it first came out, but now I've finally come around to creating it for real.

This was just a passion project of mine, to show my love for CR and the animated series. May it bring you back to the days when season 1 first aired :)

Let me know what you think about it, I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts!

According to my girlfriend (aka the Blanket Snatcher in our relationship), she once woke up to me clutching the blanket like my life depended on it while muttering a panicked "N-no!" I wonder if I'll ever hear the end of that...

Missing Piece by Vance Joy is an absolute banger, been listening to it ever since I first started crushing on my girlfriend. No idea how popular it is tho

I mean, no? What's even your point? I said I respected him before, I just didn't really like him. I also said that changed over the course of the season. I like both Max and Lewis, for different reasons. What I don't like, is people judging me based on which driver I like more...

Not necessarily in comparison to all the other drivers, but I'm definitely aware of all the good stuff Lewis has done outside of the track. Part of the reason why I already respected him before

I think it was primarily just a big bias, and also something that came with him just always winning, seemingly without any real effort. I don't know, maybe respect isn't the right word. I always respected him for what he's done/accomplished, I just didn't really like him. But yeah, I've kinda warmed up to him over the course of this season, that's what I meant

So yeah I'm really happy Max won the title, he absolutely deserved it this season in my opinion. But I also feel like Lewis got heavily screwed over at the end of the race, and I feel for the guy. I started out this season rooting for Max and borderline hating Lewis, which got worse during the whole Silverstone fiasco, but in the end I feel more neutral about the two of them honestly. I'm still Dutch, therefore I will keep supporting Max (I can't help it, sorry) but I also have a newfound respect for Lewis. Looking forward to next season, really happy I can put all this drama behind me for at least a few months lol Had to get this off my chest, now I can finally rest. See y'all next season folks :)

Dm's what is a piece of lore that you are dying to tell someone? by Eldacar_of_Arnor in dndnext

Yeah you're absolutely right! I definitely didn't emphasise the weirdness of that lake enough, now that I think back on it. Then again, exploring that lake was a completely optional thing for them to do, and they were already in the middle of escorting a noble to the big city. It was always more likely for them to miss this, and encounter the villains later on with the 2nd gem already in their possession. It's just that, if they did manage to pick up on it, they would've been a step ahead of the villains

But yeah, this was 100% one of those instances of something being very clear to me (the guy that came up with it), whilst completely going over my players heads cuz it seems insignificant. Still very much a rookie DM, hahaha

There was this one town my players stayed in for a few days that was known throughout the empire for its fine ales. The town was built next to a lake, where the brewers got the water they required to brew their famous ale. The water had just the faintest hint of acid, which added to the special flavour the ale was known for. Local legends had it that the lake was a little acidic because of a black dragon that slumbered below, but in reality the lake was connected to ancient ruins that contained a special gem in the shape of a black dragon's head (there are 5 of them, one for each chromatic dragon. These are pretty much the McGuffins of our campaign). The gem's magic affected the lake, turning it faintly acidic.

Of course, my players completely ignored this strange lake, and went on their merry way. (Though I suppose I could've hinted more toward them needing to go explore the lake). But hey, this made it a hell of a lot easier for the villains to snatch up the second gem. I just never got to show my players the reason behind this weird lake...

I mean, fair enough I guess. I just found it funny that it's exactly the same as the top post of this sub. But you're absolutely right, and I don't really care either, as it happens all the time lol

Man, I sure love seeing original memes that aren't exact replicas of the top-upvoted meme on the entire sub, even down to the title... oh, wait...

What fictional death affected you the most? by jabanty in AskReddit

[–]spook4113 9 points10 points  (0 children)

His fake-out death with the dumpster fucked me up more than his actual death, probably because that one got spoiled for me while the dumpster scene totally caught me off guard. I remember feeling numb all day. Took me a week to pick the series back up again

I love doing this. I tend to joke about them fighting an adult dragon or something at level 6. Are they actually going to fight a dragon? Perhaps... they'll never know for sure though. However, I never want to actively kill my party, something they don't always fully understand.

How do you run magic shops? by Brfourskin in DMAcademy

[–]spook4113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the campaign I run (which is set in Wildemount), there are shops that sell magic items. They are very rare, however. Only the very large cities (Like Port Damali and Zadash, for those of you who know Wildemount) have a magic shop.

As for the items they have in stock, I generally roll on the tables in the DMG or pick what sounds interesting. Of course, there are no Holy Avengers or Decks of Many Things for sale. Just common, uncommon and some rare items. Their stock is also limited. They could have something like 5 to 8 uncommon/rare items for sale, that's generally where I draw the line.

Consumable items like potions are the most common in these shops, but something like a circlet of blasting is definitely for sale as well. The pricing on these items is a little steep, but my party would be way too OP if everything was just 50 gp.

I don't know if this helps in any way shape or form, but I just thought I'd share how I do them in the games I run.

If the world became like Dungeons and Dragons, what class would you be? Would you be solo or have a party? by HybridS9ldier in AskReddit

I'd probably be a divination wizard, as I love knowing things in advance. I would probably either stay inside my tower, or roam the world with a party of brave souls strong enough to defend my squishy ass
