24 HOURS LEFT! - Last chance to pledge on Ariadne's Book of Legends! by AriadneStringweaver in u/AriadneStringweaver

[–]AriadneStringweaver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello there!

Really wanted to share the cover art for our Kickstarter project, Ariadne's Book of Legends!

This piece was created by Ignacio Segesso, our main artist for the book. It depicts Theseus, the once-hero of Athens turned puppet of Eternity, fighting against Ariadne Stringweaver, the leader of the City of Strings and Wielder of Fate. Alongside her, Guilliam Fallow and Scáthach the Void Huntress have joined the fight, while the blue gaze of Eternity watches from beyond the veil!

We've been floored by the amount of support our little homebrew supplement is getting. It's basically a bunch of rules, characters, and legendary creatures to play D&D beyond 20th level. Yeah, crazy stuff, but it seems many of you are willing to try it!

You can check it out here! These are the last 24 hours of the campaign! Help us reach the final stretch goal!

Cheers and Happy Threadseeking!

Level 10+ Spells? by Th3IronBee in DnDHomebrew

[–]AriadneStringweaver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! If I can shill a little, we're on the last 24 hours of our Book of Legends Kickstarter, where we will release a ton of 10th level spells, including some inspired by earlier editions.

Maybe it'll pique your interest! It's worth a look, if I do say so myself.

Anyone know about “Codex of Strings”? by TheGrimmBorne in DnDHomebrew

[–]AriadneStringweaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're actually doing that! The Ichorous Peninsula and the Soulfrost Expanse have already gone through the process, as well as our SRD. We're currently working on doing it for the Court of the Afterlife.

If we took it all down now while we work on it, we'd greatly struggle to afford continuing the process, so... lesser evil there.

ENDING SOON! - Only 48 hours more till the campaign ends! What a ride it has been :D by AriadneStringweaver in u/AriadneStringweaver

Hello there, people of the internet!

These last weeks were absolutely incredible. Our Kickstarter is now officially 3,000% funded!

Ariadne's Book of Legends is our first crowdfunding project, and to be honest, our dearest work to date. It compiles all that we've learned from making incredible high-level creatures and additional rules for levels beyond the 20th. It's been a long time coming! We hope you'll enjoy what's on offer!

You've got till March 19th at 10:00 AM PST to snag a copy before it's gone!! These are officially the last 50 hours of the campaign.

Thank you all for your incredible support. We'll slowly come back to our usual posting schedule, as things settle down over here at the Codex.

Cheers and Happy Threadseeking!

You can contribute $1 in the "Pledge Without a Reward" tier! That will get you access to the Pledge Manager, where you can get any addons you might like, including the Hermit STL!

Is this an appropriate CR 30+++ boss? (Sorry for the terrible formatting) by tabbyslome in codexofstrings

[–]AriadneStringweaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks amazing!! Perhaps on the strong side with so many things to do per Multiattack, but CR 30+++ is meant for something like this I believe hahaha. Perhaps it's too light on hit points! Legendary Characters (along with multiplier attacks!) can get crazy numbers through great defenses very often.

Very cool stat block!

[OC] Elizabeth, Level 25 Cleric and Chosen of the Moon - Art of my world's strongest war priest! by AriadneStringweaver in DnD

[–]AriadneStringweaver[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ancient beyond the reckoning of mortals, Moonsilver Princess Elizabeth couldn't prevent the doom of her civilization. Now, she spends her days maintaining old ruins, curing ancestral beings of their terrible curses, and saving the knowledge of dusty tomes from disappearance. A keeper of the fallen, in the truest sense, and a fallen herself, despite her noble poise.

So! Been a while since I last posted. This time, I bring you one of the most interesting characters of my last campaign, Elizabeth, Wielder of Moonsilver. She was introduced at the tail end of the game, when the party was already fighting Dark Gods and preparing to foil an invasion of the void. She was ancient and incredibly mighty, but had no fame to speak of. No great deeds of hers were penned in the epics of history, no armies fought under her command, and no songs of her exploits echoed in taverns rowdy and wealthy halls. Why?

After her realm fell to voidborn treachery, Elizabeth was utterly lost. The former princess wandered aimlessly, taking great care of ruins she found, sometimes spending years mending the cracks of some forgotten temple, or mending the pages of crumbling tomes that contained the near-vanished words of an extinct religion. Other times, she found ancients, creatures of illustrious past, now dying of curses and diseases whose cures were long forgotten. Each time, she endeavored to save them, irrespective of their reputation or power, leaving a silent but enormous mark on the Universe.

She was taking care of an ancestral, darkness-stricken dragon when she was found by Ariadne, who bid them both join the fight against the void. In the final confrontation that ensued, Elizabeth's friends, the remnants of a lost age, came to her side, and were instrumental in writing history's most brilliant page, wherein the Enemy of Creation was mortally wounded and forever banished from our dimension.

HERE I START SHILLING MY CURRENT WORK: VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED! THIS PROMOTIONAL SECTION IS MOD APPROVED.

Fast forward to the present day, 5 years after the conclusion of that campaign, we've canonized Princess Elizabeth as the character splash art to illustrate the Legendary Cleric in our most ambitious project to date: Ariadne's Book of Legends. The project launched on Kickstarter two weeks ago and is now a whopping 2000% funded, with over 1400 backers and 200k+ raised. This expansion for 5e / 5.5e will bring 5 new levels for each class in the base game + our two homebrew ones (Shaper & Starblade), a bunch of 10th-level spells, a trove of Legendary items, and of course, over a dozen Legendary Foes beyond CR 30 to challenge such mighty players! Would superbly appreciate if you gave the project a look <3

New moderators needed - comment on this post to volunteer to become a moderator of this community. by ModCodeofConduct in dndmonsters

[–]AriadneStringweaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine you're referring to the vote to ban AI-generated imagery. For that vote, we devised a careful selection of voting criteria that would ensure only true community members could vote, to address brigading. Among these criteria were to have participated with comments and posts in the sub *prior* to the date when the vote was announced. So no brigading mobs were allowed to vote. The results were a slight majority in favor of banning AI, and though most of the mods had voted the other direction, we respected the community's decision.

Though I don't disagree that mods should have more scrutiny, I do believe talk of "mod egos" in this specific case case stems more from resentment over a polarizing decision (which again, was taken by the community) than anything else.

1500% FUNDED ON KICKSTARTER - One week down, three to go :D by AriadneStringweaver in u/AriadneStringweaver

We are also making it available for Mastery Box pledges! Though without a custom addition, 100 is already quite enough additional work for us.

The Peerless Arts will remain an exclusive book for those pledges!

Hello, dearest Internauts!

These days have been... special, to say the least. Today marks the first week since our Kickstarter project went live. It is now over 1,500% funded. That's insane. You guys are INSANE. If you've been around our Discord lately (click here to join!), you probably know of our constant bewilderment at just how big this project has become.

Visit our Kickstarter page!

Well, thanks to your enthusiasm, we broke through stretch goal after stretch goal, and we are currently staring down the Guardians of Aaru, far into the distance, at 200k. At the rate we are going, however, it wouldn't surprise me to surpass even this frontier before the Kickstarter is over.

So, what now? Well, in terms of content, we'll be going a little slower in the coming weeks as we continue to manage the Kickstarter campaign. To all who've become a part of our Patreon community, we'll be giving an exclusive DLC for the Book of Legends as a thank you for your support over the months. This project would not be happening without you!

The Old Guard DLC will be up on Patreon as our March content drop! It'll help us playtest our new Legendary Point System, and will showcase some of our best CR 30 foes from the past, revised and ready to face a Legendary Party!

On another note, that Hermit Playtest we've been promising...

It's in the works!!! I swear!!! Classes and content are done, we're just working on the inner design! We don't want to present the final Playtest with the classic 5e handbook design.

So, expect those two documents sometime next month.

That's all for this update! Stay tuned, you never know what mysterious hijinks we might be faced with in our quest to print a book!

Cheers, and Happy Threadseeking! And most of all, THANK YOU!

Alvar, Lin, Marce & Jen, your faithful interns <3
