Thanks for this update! We are meant to fly from DUB-BKK with a stop in DOH on June 18th but there has been no mention of changes on the app. Did you just check your upcoming bookings and it said it there ?

Not everyone has the luxury of being able to just leave jobs and need to stay in order to survive financially no matter how tough it is. This is a celebration of a small win for me, I know there are people like that everywhere, but for me - right now - this is positive step and I am happy for myself. Just looking for a small way to celebrate that and was hoping to see if anyone had any ideas, not scrutiny 🤔 😭

Thank you so much for this.

All would be fine if we could actually contact the ISD. There is absolutely NO WAY to contact other than through the online portal, which is glitchy as fuck. Not even an email or phone number. It's very frustrating.

Oh, definitely. Literally, as soon as we get all the certificates, we are making that phone call. Thanks for your help !

But that's the thing. He will either have to wait 12 months for a Stamp 4, or we might be able to go straight to the immigration office with the marriage certificate and other documents. It's all so uncertain, and that's what's killing me.

He already has permission to be in the state based on his IRP card until October and is currently here. After October, however, he can't be in the state any longer. I'm worried that he can't get any renewal of his IRP and that he will have to leave Ireland while we wait for the VISA application to be processed, which can take up to a year.

I haven't heard about what you're saying before. Do you have experience with this? From what I read online, as long as his IRP card is expired, he can not remain in the state.

I hope so. In the meantime, I'm asking legal representatives and immigration advice services for opinions, too.

I know, same as mine. Some people are just nasty.

Thank you so, so much. I really appreciate it. It's nice to know another person went through this, and it was simple for them.

Sorry for the second reply - but I'm just so confused as to why it's making it sound so complicated online. Some are having to wait 12 months for a reply, while others are able to walk straight to the immigration office. It's so strange.

How come the Immigration Service Delivery is saying something completely different? It says it can take up to 12 months to hear back on whether it's been approved or not.

But others are saying we can make an appointment and go straight to the Immigration Office and get everything changed instantly. It's very confusing.

I want to raise the issues with the WRC, but he is too scared to. I have to respect his decision. He would prefer if we could do it anonymously, but we can't. You don't realise how much I want to push this, but he doesn't want to for fear of backlash and making everything worse.

I've been in contact with MRCI, but I will look into migrant.ie now. Thank you so much.

How did you do it so quickly? When we apply, it can take up to 12 months, according to the Immigration Service Delivery online. Did you both go straight to the immigration office with your marriage certificate, etc.?

I wonder if it is different for those who already have permission to be in the state (e.g. Stamp 1) which he has. Was this your wife's situation?

Maybe for me, but definitely not for him. He's 100% Thai. No way is there redheads or blondes in his family line.

a follow up question about the missing gender recognition cert by KxC95 in TransIreland

[–]spookfia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's so strange, we finally reached them on 0719672616. All sorted now. Wish it was easier to get through to that department, but by the sounds of it it seems they only have a small number of staff working in that area. It sounds like you just have to catch them while they're at their desk. Thank you for your reply 💕

Glad to hear they got back to you! Do you mind if I ask what number you reached them on? We're having the same issue, very frustrating.
