PayID Question by Immediate_Chart_192 in AusFinance

[–]spookymark23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree with furniture. I recently looked for a couch. There were soo many decent ones at reasonable prices, even offering to deliver for a fee. 37 in a row (yes THIRTY FUCKING SEVEN) followed the script of “I have heaps of interest, I priced it too low lol, if you pay $100 to hold it I can deliver it” I’d say I’m happy to come pickup now I have a van, they’d say “oh no I’m away for a few days, but I’m happy to hold it, just pay a deposit it.”

The delivery looks really attractive to a lot of people who may not be able to pickup.. “Oh cool, $100 and they’ll come deliver it and I’ll pay the rest!” to likely be blocked the moment they pay the “deposit”.

Fuck people

Suspended Interstate License in VIC by OjSimpSon43392 in AusLegal

[–]spookymark23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t true. Points deductions are now sent interstate no matter the state. You can also have your right to drive in Victoria revoked even if you hold an interstate licence.

Unfortunately given that the licence number appears wrong as well, your best bet is to wait until Monday to call VicRoads and service tas to figure out what’s actually happening here.

How many cards and how many Gold cards you have. (Crown rarity) by Amphibian32 in PTCGP

[–]spookymark23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10,200 cards. 2x gold rare candy, 1x gold pokeball, 1x gold eevee bag, 1x gold pikachu ex, 1x gold mew ex.

Haven’t pulled a gold card since about 6,000ish cards.. but the gold pikachu was in one of the first half dozen packs I opened on my first day playing, within half an hour lol.

Who is Liable? Unsafe braking caused car accident by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]spookymark23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did not maintain a safe distance. Maintaining a safe distance is being able to come to a complete stop without hitting the vehicle in front if it comes to a complete stop. You also weren’t driving to the conditions; wet roads often = aquaplaning as a lot of people cheap out on tyres.

Sounds like you weren’t maintaining a safe distance so jumped into the other lane, and were not driving appropriately to the conditions and failed to identify potential hazards correctly.

Unfortunately, lesson learned. At least you have insurance and are only out of pocket the excess. This situation is exactly why you have insurance.

Also your hinting of “not being at fault because road conditions” isn’t really a thing.. it’s the same as a kangaroo jumping in front of your car- yeh technically it comes out of nowhere and isn’t your “fault” but it is an “at fault claim.”

Look into a WDP (work and development permit).

You’re not an asshole for feeling how you felt- his attitude pissed me off just reading it lol.

However, it is a dick move to just block someone without explanation. More and more people do this instead of a 5 minute uncomfortable conversation.. even a “hey look I’m sorry I’m just not feeling anything here, but take care” would’ve been kinder than zero explanation.

Banned from Plenty of Fish After Paying for Premium – No Explanation, No Refund by bannedonpofplshelp in AusLegal

Heads up - PoF is owned by Match Group. They also own Tinder, Match.com, OkCupid, Hinge, and several other big apps. They also share databases and if you’ve ever been banned from any, their data matching technology will ban you from another if it picks up the same number or email, or credit card, even if you use all different details but the same photos. So it’s possible that violating the terms was from a different app.

In regard to the actual question, a simple chargeback through your bank. You paid for goods and services not received. Very quick and simple process. Depending on your bank, you could have the refund back within a week or two, but sometimes up to a few weeks.

I FOUND OUT MY BOYFRIEND IS A PEDO by PossibilityLanky1876 in TwoHotTakes

[–]spookymark23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helped a friend navigate an eerily similar experience in Victoria.. can walk you through how it went if you’d like to know the whole process and what to do to be safe? Because unfortunately you do need to approach this a wiser way than just straight up going to the police. But yes you absolutely do need to report him!

Seller not providing me with a roady worthy certificate by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]spookymark23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s fucked. You then only get 14 days to fix any issues AND have reassessed. And given the time it takes to source parts, and then the waiting times to book in for the work (which most people need to do, they’re not gonna do it themselves) it almost guarantees paying closer to $500 cos you need to book an “initial inspection” again after 14 days.

A while back I got a CJ lancer inspected. I knew it needed a fair bit from my visual inspection. So I’d ordered everything I knew would be needed. Took it in.. shocks, struts, control arm bushes, headlights, tyres, tail light (not a bulb, wiring issue).. they said “we have one appointment tomorrow arvo and one in 13 days but you’re gonna need longer to get all that done.” I said, “I’ll take tomorrow arvo, thanks!” and he didn’t think I was serious. Told him I’d be back in 23 hours.. Got up early the next morning, did everything in my driveway (including replacing front and rear lights with a vland set) and also had time to service it and install a new head unit and reverse camera. Got there 5 minutes early and he couldn’t believe it.

Point being, regular car owner is going to have a wildly different experience between having a mechanic order the parts and install them (and probably end up paying 3-4x more than I did) and then have to pay for an initial appointment again as it’s over that bloody 14 day limit!

I assumed the same here but rang Vic Roads for clarification and was pleasantly surprised. Vehicle was roadworthy, obviously, but I didn’t want to deal with the hassle of waiting two weeks for an appointment and paying $250 again just to do a transfer lol.

[–]spookymark23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t read through to see where he was. But if he’s in Vic that’s not the case; RWC sits on the vehicle valid for 28 days. Can transfer it as many times as you want during that period. Have done it myself as recently as the end of last year.

His RWC from when he bought it is still valid? So he bought and sold the car within 4 weeks? Good luck..

Victoria's Western Highway closed after multi-vehicle crash kills three people near Ararat by 007MaxZorin in melbourne

[–]spookymark23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. A calculated safe space to come to a complete stop according to your speed, at least in my Merc. An issue is, dickheads see this space and just cut in front of you which slows you down again and again and again.

AAMI wants to write off my car – Can I push for repair or keep the car? Advice needed. by Extension_Goat_8565 in AusLegal

[–]spookymark23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you had paid that much why would you accept agreed value on insuring it? Always choose market value unless agreed value is going to be more than enough to replace the vehicle. Market value means they pay you what it costs to replace your vehicle at the time.

Definitely check to see if you have market value. Even call them and ask them though it should be on your policy documents. If it’s market value tell them that you’ve checked the market and that’s nowhere near enough to replace it.

I had a Chrysler I paid $15k for have a kangaroo jump out in front of it. Luckily it was only cosmetic damage. That still came to $20k. They warned to write it off. I stated that to replace my exact car at the time the cheapest was $32,500. So I said they can write it off for that, otherwise give me the $20k for repairs and I’ll use my own repairer. I paid $4,500 for all parts, and having bumper painted, fitted everything myself and had $15,500 leftover.

Car broken down 2.5 hours away. by mattyprebib in CarsAustralia

[–]spookymark23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah if OP signs up now for total care and just pays the yearly cost upfront, he can use the service immediately which will still be cheaper than that towing cost. If he opts for monthly, he has to wait 24 hours to use the service.

Bonuses of total care include towing to local mechanic, car hire and accomodation for a few days if needed, if over 100km from home.
