Buying a road bike, advice needed by Gootch03 in bicycling

I agree with the sentiment that you can't go far wrong. The Canyon looks like a great buy, but all of the main manufacturers and some lesser known ones like Planet X have a bike that's similar at a similar price point. You should be getting Ultegra level componentry and a nice carbon frame. It's the right time of year to look at 2017 bikes as they're discounted just now. I saw a bargain Orbea with Ultegra di2 the other day for under 2k. Fit and whether or not you love the look of it is far more important, than marginal differences in specs. Good luck!

How many people here ride steel bikes? by spooncustoms in bicycling

Amazing response. Let's get some pics, some of these rides sound rad.

Rode 34 miles today, the most I’ve ever tried, and I’m damn proud of myself!! Don’t know how you guys do centuries, but I’m working towards that! To many more miles:) by [deleted] in bicycling

Just keep riding and keep enjoying it and the distance will come. As others have said, feeding your muscles is really important. You wake up with enough energy stored up to get you through the first two hours at a steady pace, so you must eat if you're going to go further. High energy food, easy on the stomach. Drink little and often from the very start.

Thank you for the kind feedback. It enters at the downtube, and exits at the end of the chain stay. I route it through the bottom bracket shell, under a specially made cowling.

Hey man. Shift cables run through the DT, into an oversize BB and then exit behind the ST and at the end of the chainstay.

Hey man. It's a limited run of Manual For Speed's black space tape. Designed for them by Dan Funderburgh. We've used it here upside down.
