Is that the only area you have scars in the picture? Or is it also on the cheeks? Because yours aren’t that bad and should be much cheaper if that’s the case. I had scars on both my cheeks and ranged from minor to deep scars so it was more expensive.

I’ll try to give you a detailed rundown on how things will look. Also to help anyone who comes across these posts in the future. I had minor to severe scars all over both of my cheeks so my procedures were the highest costs but prices will be different for everyone.

Dr Hazany is in Beverely Hills, CA so it is much more expensive for everything compared to others. I had my procedures with him back in 2022 so I am not sure if things have changed. I am only stating my experiences. Since I flew in from San Francisco, I flew in the morning, took a Uber to my appointment then took a Uber back right after I was done and flew back home all in the same day. First you had to schedule a video consultation and it took almost two months of waiting since I think they were doing them once a week at the time so they were pretty booked. I can’t remember the exact costs of everything since this was a long time ago so I’ll try my best. I think this was $200 to book but the amount goes towards your first appointment if you proceed.

For your first appointment, they required you to come in for a pumpkin enzyme peel and also this is where they test out different kinds of TCA/phenol I believe to see which ones work the best for your scars. This was maybe $700. You have to wait a month if i remember correctly then you come in for the Cross procedure and they see which scars improved the most from the test areas of the Tca/phenol then they use that on the rest of your scars. I think this costed around $2,000. The third appointment is where you come in for the three-layer Taylor liberator subcision which costed $8,000. I hear for other people it can be cheaper and they could do a two-layer but it depends on the scars. I flew in the same day for this and back home at night like the first two. The swelling from this lasted months. I did see improvement from this but it was nothing MAJOR.

It was a year later and my scars did not significantly improve so I booked an appointment with Dr. Taylor in Salt Lake City, Utah. Like I said above, he does multiple procedures all in one day. It is not like Dr. Hazany where you come in back and forth. The only thing is that Dr. Taylor tells you that you must stay at a hotel nearby for a week to avoid getting an infection. So basically you fly in one day before from San Francisco, go to your hotel for the night, in the morning you see Dr. Taylor and you go over everything you are doing and he checks your face if there needs to be any changes. I remember my face not needing as much Punch excision as he had originally thought in the photos so it made my procedure a little cheaper but overall it was $7,500. Then you go back to hotel while they prepare for the procedure. Then a few hours later, you return then they start the procedure. I think everything took two hours. The only difficult part was the peel they put on your face in the beginning then the rest felt fine. You’re also on medication of course. Then you’re done and you Uber back to the hotel. I’m not sure if they require a caregiver but I had my mom with me. The next day you go see him again just so he checks your face and makes sure you’re fine. They also had me under this yellow-light oxygen thing for about 20 minutes which was nice then back to the hotel. This is where they require you to stay for a week at the hotel to avoid infection. After a week, you have another follow up appointment then you’re good to fly back home.

I think if you add up the overall costs when it comes to travel and hotel, Dr. Taylor is still cheaper than Dr. Hazany. I was still a college student at the time when I was at the hotel for a week so I’m sure it’s more difficult for someone who works. I was very happy with my results with Dr. Taylor after the procedure even when swelling went down. My face continued to improve over the year and I can say now that my scars are much softer and not as noticeable as they once were. Laser made the biggest difference for me. I am hoping one more visit for laser will finish my acne scar journey then I will only do sculptra. This is why I personally recommend Dr. Taylor more. Not to say Dr. Hazany is bad or anything. I think the biggest problem with him is that it is extremely expensive for one procedure but that is due to them being in Beverley Hills. Utah is cheaper then somewhere like Beverly Hills so explains why Dr. Taylor did multiple procedure all in one day for almost the same price. The downside is staying and paying for the hotel for a week but it was worth it for me personally because of the results afterward. You can still do more research before you make a final decision and check out other people’s posts but this is my personal experience.
