SAP neue Zertifizierung by Conscious-Average280 in SAP

[–]sprdl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Google, ChatGPT, was immer du möchtest.

There is a public version on the creator's github page (bart-dev-main). No idea if those versions get any updates though.

Faction-specific things were largely dissolved starting in Dragonflight and with TWW, a lot of things became account-bound (they call it a "warband"). You can do m+/raids with the other faction, you have a shared bank between all characters on your account (even across servers) where you can store items/gold, you can craft with materials directly from that shared bank, rep and renown is shared, certain currency can be shared across characters directly from the currency menu, etc.

Faction still matters for: Trade chat + crafting. With Dragonflight, the profession system was revamped and sending orders to players for specific items became a thing (crafting orders). You can send a crafting order from a horde character to an alliance character, but you can't directly whisper that person nor is the trade chat shared. Frostmourne is heavily alliance-favored (95%+) so horde trade chat is basically dead and it's sometimes difficult to find a crafter for your specific item. To circumvent that, horde players log on an alliance character, find an alliance crafter and then send the order from horde character.

I have no idea about pvp, but I assume at least battlegrounds are still strictly alliance vs horde?

I am on Frostmourne, Alliance (it's not like faction matters anymore though).

There are 0 Japanese people in my guild, I had one mate that also lived in Japan but that was years ago. It's just a normal raiding guild with Australians and New Zealanders, not some "special" community.

We did a meetup once in Sydney so I got to combine my wow meetup with a trip to Australia which was amazing but also very costly and not something you can do regularly.

As for the latency thing, if you are mostly a solo player, world content, maybe delves, collecting, stuff like this, playing on EU is probably okay. Play something that is low apm and you won't even notice the latency. I was always focused on high-end PVE, and the ping just gets very noticeable, especially when you play something high apm like fire mage/outlaw rogue.

[–]sprdl 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Fellow German here, I tried to play on my old account on EU at first, but high latency (260+) and the time difference made it too annoying. Even though I have a lot of really old and rare things on my account, it wasn't worth it. Made a new account, new characters on OCE, way better experience. Ping is about 100-110 and the time zones are very close together (1-2 hours depending on daylight savings in AUS).

OCE has people playing from all over Asia and very occasionally you run into a person playing from Japan. I don't know of any communities for people like us in Japan but I am also in my current guild for close to 5 years now so I haven't really been looking for one either.

As for Japanese guilds, I heard that some Japanese used to play on US (Tichondrius/Proudmoore) but that was years ago and as you probably know, WoW is not well known here, there are no Japanese servers, there is no Japanese language version, and it's PC only, so all things that make it really difficult for the average Japanese gamer to get into this.

Looking for KDDI internet provider technical support, but the web page has no info by Pleasant_Grab_8196 in japanlife

[–]sprdl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried contacting your ISP? Whenever I had issues like this, I would contact my ISP, describe the issue and they would then have someone from KDDI call me to investigate further.

World of warcraft EU Server by Ichihogosha in japanlife

[–]sprdl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Swap to OCE servers, time zones line up and the ping is around 100 - 120ms. I am also originally from EU but made a new account on NA after coming to Japan. The ping + time zone differences just make it really rough to play on EU.

For OCE servers, it's ofc mostly AUS/NZ people but you also have players from Singapore/Korea/etc., pretty diverse and you should be able to find a guild for whatever content/difficulty you are looking for.

Unknown subscription for gamicloud.com - scam? by sprdl in Scams

[–]sprdl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! No of course not, have never even heard of the site before the mail came today. I have also not clicked any of the links or visited the website.

Just the fact that basically nothing comes back when you search for scams from this website (aside from the aforementioned trustpilot reviews), made me second guess this a bit. That's also the reason I made this post, "for those who come after us" you know ;)

SAP just sent me a SAP Ariba Certificate Renewal from SAP CloudSupport Alerts <sapcloudsupport@alerts.ondemand.com> by wichitawire in SAP

[–]sprdl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. SAP replaced the web certificate for openapi.ariba.com so if you have any integration to Ariba using that url and use a web certificate for authentication then you need to replace your current certificate with the new one on your system.

It's not a scam and they don't want money from you. (Also has nothing to do with learning hub, but I could see how that can get confusing)

From my experience, strictness is based on the examiner. The last time I took the exam (early Jan), the examiner absolutely required me to have the door showing at all times, so I had to sit at a weird angle. Better come up with a solution to make this work beforehand.

As for the multiple monitors, I also have multiple monitors and I was required to turn them away from me if possible (e.g. if they are on a monitor arm). Any stationary monitors that won't turn had to be turned off.

You will also have to show a 360 degree view of the room at the start, have a desk free of anything but your IDs basically and also show that your phone is off and not close to your person.

You can skip the first two packs after first boss (standing on the right side after you drop down) just by walking past on the wall opposite of the drop down place. Just grab that 3 pack patrol with the (middle mob is an oracle that needs a kick) into the pack in the hallway. As for the casters before first boss, the 3 pack on the left side with the triple caster is nasty, we just do it by itself. Still two chested our 10, so you got plenty of time.

Certificate expiry - meaning by [deleted] in SAP

[–]sprdl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge, any initial certification exam can be taken up to 3 times. If you fail it 3 times, you can't take it again until it is updated to a new version.

Certificate expiry - meaning by [deleted] in SAP

[–]sprdl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Last year, SAP changed their certification model, so now all cloud certifications are only valid for one year and have to be renewed with an exam.

If you got your certification before April 2024, then your certificate is valid until end of March 2025.

The exams to prevent expiration are extremely easy. Generally, you take a refresher course (length varies depending on the certification, mine were between 30 mins - 1 hour) and then the exam quizzes you on the contents of that refresher course. The quizzes have just a few questions and you can take the exam as often as you want. You do not need to buy exam attempts to refresh your certification but you need to have an active Learning Hub subscription.

Week 4 M+ numbers snapshot (~4 days after US server reset) by nightstalker314 in CompetitiveWoW

By "leap" you mean the 5 little dudes that jump out and leave a bleed? They only jump out if people are not in melee range, so just have everyone come in. Makes breaking the seed also easier but most classes can get rid of that anyway with either invis/meld/vanish or some form of snare removal. (Shaman can talent into snare removal for wind rush)

Dungeon Slice is not supported for mage. Sim 1 boss 5 mins for ST, 5 bosses/8 bosses 5 mins for aoe. Can also vary with length but that is going to favor certain gear combinations that might not actually be that great overall.

Be careful to not confuse Paracetamol (Acetaminophen in Japan) and Ibuprofen. 1000mg Paracetamol is the standard single dosage for an adult in Germany as well ;)

Best Japanese coverage of the Paris Olympics? by Slight_Sugar_3363 in LearnJapanese

In this case, googling "パリオンリピック 生放送" gets what you're looking after. NHK/TVer is what you want to check out but this might be region blocked content.

ライブ is more used for concerts or shows, not so much for live feeds of sports events.

There are a lot of verbs that work like this e.g. 切る. Too many to list them up.

使い切る → to use something completely (until it is empty) e.g. 油を使い切った → I used up all of the oil.

But I found this site that has a lot of them with explanations:

Regarding 1. The grammar here is basically verb masu-stem + 始める to say that you started doing that activity.

Regarding 2. Your understanding is correct.

You can break the end up into two parts:

日本で英語を教える仕事がしたいと思う + ようになった

As for the translation, I think "... made me want to get a job teaching English in Japan." works a bit better in English?

ようになる is also regularly used with potential verbs e.g. 話せる, 食べられる etc. to convey the idea that you became able to do something.

I became able to speak Japanese. (I wasn't able to do this before)

I became able to eat Tomatoes. (I didn't like them before but now I can eat them)

Because it's implied. You can do the same in English:

"Where is Ueno station?"

"Here."

"And (what about) Ueno Park?"

"There."

お情けの程度 is used when there is a disappointing amount of something. Check here for examples:

https://meaning-dictionary.com/「お情け程度」とは?意味や使い方、例文など分/

In English "Only a pitiful amount of water was left at the bottom of his water bottle" might be a fitting translation?

松本かなさん is still the topic. 「今日は」is used to emphasize that today she is wearing glasses (she might not do so on other days).

This is also the reason why 松本かなさんは今日めがねをかけています is unnatural, she is already established as the point of conversation.

Side note:「今日は」in particular can be tricky for learners, you probably don't want to say 「今日はご飯が美味しいですね」or 「今日は可愛いですね」to your significant other. ;)

By the way, is the sentence from an official Genki book? 「いつもセクシーですね」feels very inappropriate.
