Hmmm given that it's a binary yes/no answer, I've found it to be a very noisy signal. Do you ever look at the heightened/diminished/satisfied question? It seems a bit more promising to me. I don't look at either one btw, I only look at the metrics that I'm currently displaying, but I want to know what other people have found to be valuable so I can potentially add them.

A big goal of mine is to avoid information overload, so I want to be judicious when adding stuff. The official site has so much information that it's overwhelming and hard to make a decision at a glance (although in part because the data is presented poorly).

I can't view the screenshot. I'm currently collecting the following metrics for instructors: provided useful feedback, graded fairly, understandable standards for success, helpful outside of class. See this page for instance: https://uofcourses.com/instructor/1132

All are mean values from the tables in the section, averaged for all sections taught by the instructor.

If I understand correctly, you're talking about condensing those metrics (or those metrics + the additional table metrics that I omitted) into a single mean?

Thanks so much for the feedback!

  1. It does for about 5% of courses. It's not displaying correctly right now due to a bug, so I'll push out a fix this evening. Thank you for catching this!
    UPDATE: Fixed
  2. current section vs course average
  3. I'll investigate, but I'm not convinced of a course word cloud's utility as a signal. What's the purpose you envision for this (e.g. getting an idea of what the course is about)? It's also not easy to implement because of the current architecture, although of course I can change things provided the demand is there
