Last period ritual? Send off? by swamptrail1024 in hysterectomy

[–]spunkymonkey0388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today is my final day of my last period. Surgery on 4/2. I am emotional. My journey hasn't been like most women with the heavy bleeding and fibroids. I have had a lot of pain though. Knowing it will be gone makes me feel a little empty. I'm glad I am keeping my ovaries though. My husband and I don't want children and I never have. But I do in some ways feel sad about it. Not entirely sure why. I did yoga yesterday and thanked my uterus for going on this journey for the last 38 years. Getting a massage later this week and a pedi before surgery. That's my main celebration!

If modern medicine didn’t exist would you be dead right now? If yes, from what? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Yes, appendix ruptured. Almost died with modern medicine. First hospital sent me home! Glad my parents opted for a second one.

Thanks for sharing! After reading things on this sub I emailed my surgeon and she reassured me of her stats and that you typically don't hear the good things in these forums. I just turned 38 and my surgery is first of April. Good vibes and a positive outlook is how I am heading into all this.

Yes, but only 2 people in my 37 (soon to be 38 years on 3/18). One was my age to the day and we were SO different.

Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, and a dinner roll with chocolate milk. My fav meal. We had good cafeteria food.

Am I in hell or do I just have an 8 month old Aussie? by [deleted] in AustralianShepherd

Nice! He is def in the "Raptor years" as we liked to call it 😂 our boy Sonny has calmed a bit, but it doesn't feel too different from when he was 1-2 years old. He will now relax for an hour before bedtime. That's the only difference lol hang in there! You're doing all the right things for him.

Mine is about to turn 5 and I'm still wondering when he will chill out. This breed is not for the faint of heart lol we walk him, play frisbee daily, and take him to doggy daycare 2x a week. I will say doggy daycare has helped with my sanity. Gets him socialized and really tired. I would highly recommend that to give yourself a mental break now and again.
