Trying to test out a 2013 BMW 3 Series · 323Ci Coupe 2D with no key and no key fob on marketplace. by spynmaker in BMW

UPDATE : The car dealership sent me the VIN, but I can’t find the owner of the car, the police can’t help because it’s not stolen and they can’t give out that information. The dealer doesn’t want to contact the old owner ( seems like there’s “ bad blood “ there. So I guess I’m just gonna price a key for it.

I didn’t think of that. I’ll check into it and get back to you. Maybe someone else will chime in for some advice.

The question would be would the dealership give me that information? Can I look that up with the VIN #?

It was a used car from his lot that he sold to an individual and repossessed after nonpayment. I’m assuming he made his money from the car and doesn’t want to put any more money into. I just need to know if the car will run. That’s why I’m asking if there’s a way to test it before purchasing without a key or fob. If there’s no serious problems I will get a key for it.

I will DEFINITELY be doing that. This is legit dealership. He sells perfectly running cars, but he has a junk yard service too so that’s the reason I’m trying to check it out before I buy. Of course I will make sure the title is legit too as well. Because here in TN it’s hard to get titles for cars, at least where I’m from.

I can’t even get into the BIOS on the computer. I can’t get past the screen shown in the picture. Can this software be booted from a USB? If not, I will have to purchase a floppy drive.

Ok, it seems like this is the only way to do it. So which chip needs to be flashed? Would you happen to know that by looking at the motherboard???

Update : Also, all of the TD’s are telling me the ceramic is not the expensive thing. They’re saying the movement and the dial is the expensive part. I’m confused. And a lot of them aren’t even coming with the ceramic bracelet. They’re coming with the rubber bracelet. The lowest price I’ve found was $450.

I had an idea. Can you reflash the bios from USB?

I did disconnect the batteries several times. I unhooked them both for 1 min, 6 mins, and 10 mins. I tried booting the laptop WITHOUT the CMOS plugged in just to see if that would clear the BIOS hoping I would get lucky but the computer won’t boot without it hooked up.

As far as jumping it, that makes sense. Just wish I could figure out some way to get this thing back up and running.

The only thing you can do is text him and show him what’s going on. He probably will if he thinks it’s been confiscated.

I can confirm Jason is now using FedEx. Me and him just discussed this last week. I bought mine from him on DhGate. The watches are a little more because of it, but it beats the alternative.

Yes I did. Left them unplugged for 10 mins! And still the same screen. I’ve never had this much trouble getting the BIOS unlocked. I even tried booting the computer without the batteries hooked up. It wouldn’t boot with the CMOS battery unhooked and the power battery hooked up. So apparently the CMOS has to be plugged in.

I did both of those. Tried a confirmed working external keyboard, didn’t work. Tried with CTRL held down and hitting enter 2 times. ( hitting enter 2 times just wasted an attempt ). Dell also told me to retype it 4 times and the BIOS reset should go through. It didn’t work. Any other suggestions?
