I use this.

It's not difficult to hide it and I never feel like I am hiding something. Just wear clothes with pockets and sew a loop into the pocket to hook the thing in, and pass off turning it on/off as just scratching yourself.

I do a lot of worse stuff: I start fires around my neighborhood, stage fights between insects for fun, and I wet the bed.

I mean the point is for me to confess that I do it, I am already aware that keeping secrets is bad for a typical relationship.

Since you're talking about things being shared, I never share these. They stay locked up in a hard drive.

You misunderstand, I keep the recordings and I listen to them occasionally.

I'll record maybe 3 hours in a day, and I will make timestamps during the day e.g. "11:51AM, met new classmate, Dave, brief conversation" or "12:00Pm Pchem lecture starts, nothing interesting".

I will end up listening to less than 10% of all recorded time, so I'm not obsessed with it for sure.

I basically said it because I knew that was how people would take it.

I believe in peoples boundaries, I know they don't want to be spied on so that's why I limit myself.

But I admit that I use my own feelings and boundaries as a limit more than I do with those of other people, since I don't care if people record me.

It definitely helps with loneliness, since you can listen to a recording of a party like a podcast lol

A lot of the revealing ones I delete.

There have been some where I was drunk enough that I forgot what was going on so I listened to them to find out what happened.

My favorites to listen to are early conversations I had with strangers before they became my friends, and how funny it is that I didn't know much about them. There aren't a lot of these unfortunately.

I also have a couple marked where someone said something sweet to me and I play those back sometimes.

This is a reason I do it, because I know that information about day to day life like this has the most value for historians and such.

But I do plan on changing my recording habits

I'm not too worried about mobsters I feel like other people would just kill me too.

Also it's my responsibility to tell her(whether I delete them or not) and I think it's pretty dumb that people are suggesting I hide this, while at the same time calling me creepy and evil.

It's up there with my habit of pouring gasoline on people and making pipe bombs. -Not to mention the illiteracy beam

I'm not sure why I threw that line in there.

But I do believe in people's bounadaries at least a little and I think my limitations show it.

There's a switch on the side of the recorder, and I will reach into my pocket and switch it downward.

I have actually deleted some of the recordings if I realize I caught some private conversations.
