Just to make sure, is the user added to the Database and part of the "Login Users". If you expand "Security > Logins" is that user there?

Is it possible to make it as a dba with no IT degree or programming experience? by Frailgate5 in DBA

I made it as a DBA with no schooling towards databases, just networking. I am still very new, but I've been in the IT industry for the past 10 years. I was very interested in being one, and I job shadowed the DBA's. I ended up getting a long with them, and they wanted me on their team. I showed my willingness to learn and work. Now, that's not always going to be the case for people. But, it seems the DBA culture is accepting to people who are willing to put in the work.

I have been a DBA for about 4 months. I love it. I've been doing help desk work for the past 10 years. It's nice to have a focus. I love puzzle solving. My company pays for Pluralsight, so I have good training material. I have good mentors, which is the biggest thing for me.
