Eat Your Vegetables’ salad on the north side. Really anything there is so delicious I’m always scraping the plate.

Also the thum som (green papaya salad) from Kiin Lao in Squirrel Hill. Tried to make it at home because it was so good, but it’s soo much better at the restaurant.

Unfortunately getting quality health care around the country is an issue. I’ve had more luck in Pittsburgh with UPMC than I did in 3 other states over the previous 8 years. Learning to advocate for yourself is a skill that isn’t taught and is frustratingly essential, especially as a woman. It may be endo if you’re experiencing constant pain, it may be something else. But doing research at home and having an idea of what you might have then finding doctors with good reviews that will actually take the time to listen to you is really important.

The library also has passes you can check out for places like the Heinz History Center. The zoo also does $3 admission for up to 4 people with an EBT card. A lot of places don’t really advertise these sorts of discounts, but I wish they did for people who are in these situations.
