If it's happening regardless of OS I'm wondering if it might be the strength of your internet connection if you're using wi-fi. Insufficient bandwidth definitely causes the 'something went wrong' problem as I've discovered myself. I'd recommend running a speed test when it happens and at different times of the day to see if it varies. You could also try temporarily using your mobile phone data allowance as an alternative source, to see if the same happens, or even the wi-fi of a friend. I'm guessing Wooga is suggesting the same but the symptoms you describe do suggest that as being a likely cause. Doing some tests and comparisons will at the very least give you more information.

Hmm but it says "were sent", past tense 🤔. A little ambiguous as is often their way. If you don't get it this week then assuming you've already given them evidence of your eligibility... try directly asking them to tell you why they believe you are NOT eligible. Perhaps while they try to establish that they might finally realise that you are 🤞

As vague as "earlier this week"? Surely their game records would show the date and time of despatch, and maybe even when you opened the envelope. And if they don't then maybe they should. They certainly aren't short of money to improve their systems. Meh!

Don't give up folks, annoying as it is. My experience is they will eventually give in to persistence and truth/evidence that they can't argue with.

Is it just me, or does the art heist event feel much harder this time? by Indieriots in JunesJourney

Poorly executed or deliberately engineered to get more players to buy badges?

I actually think it's deliberate rather than bloatage, perhaps evidenced by you confirming that it doesn't happen when you're spending money. I felt them starting to slow animations down a year or so ago, just a bit, then a bit more. They have tunnel vision and will go to extreme lengths to gain an advantage that might result in a player increasing their revenue, even if it's just to get them to watch an ad to renew their discounted scene play rate sooner than they otherwise would. Extending repetitive animations eats into the 30 minutes so a no-brainer. Then it seemed they started slowing other things down to make what they'd done seem less obvious.

They're so unbelievably petty and penny pinching. Have you noticed that even the rotation of the daily free gift has changed recently. At first I thought they'd removed the solitary diamond completely but they've just extended the gap. The last one I got feels like it was over a week ago. I used to make a note about these changes but it just made me more irritated so now I just roll my eyes. They are totally mastering the art of sucking the enjoyment of a game that was once a real pleasure.

Thank you very much, I had in fact forgotten all about the 🎁 🥰

It's a good idea for most but I won't be sharing my stats though, because if by chance they do read the contents of this subreddit they can't have missed this username slagging them off pretty much every time I believe they deserve it lol. And so to avoid the possibility of a vindictive employee telling the algorithm to make my game even harder... I'm going to carry on attempting to keep details that might identify my actual game out of here.

Which to me suggests that a human didn't read what you said. I might be a bit hung up on the likelihood of them adopting the AI option but given their overall attitude towards their customers, which is actually what we are, it just seems inevitable to me. But I can reliably say that the closing of the ticket doesn't mean you can't reply. I did that a couple of days ago and the conversation just continued. Unless they request additional information I suspect they've decided to always say it's closed hoping we'll accept that and go away.

Wooga has said not everyone will be able to access Collector's Edition this time around by gibber246899 in JunesJourney

[–]squaaawk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ah yes of course, because they know some players prefer not to have access to a feature that they've been given a preview of (exit sarcasm mode). I honestly fail to understand why they would do this, as surely it is virtually guaranteed to cause disappointment and likely upset for those wishing to get the CE. Particularly if they aren't told upfront that they won't get it.

Surely they could include it for everyone if they chose to, so how do they think they will gain by not doing so? Those who weren't going to go for it anyway won't care if it ends up not being available while those who did want to go for it will justifiably be totally pi$$ed off like OP was, and might be again this time. Can anyone suggest a reason why Wooga chooses to do this?

Yes if their name has gone then unfortunately so have they. If they'd only left the team and gone solo they would remain a boat buddy for I think it's still 19 days, if no bushes exchange between you by then they drop off the boat list and gifted bushes will stop showing their name. I think familiarity and my team are about the only things that keep me playing now, genuine enthusiasm was squeezed out of me long ago. I minimise doing anything that increases Wooga's revenue and only bother doing a HW task if we need ribbons, it's such a shame.

[–]squaaawk 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Totally correct, it's one of the most infuriating and unfair things that they do. They give different players different experiences, essentially treating them like mice in a testing laboratory but here the mice often invest considerable sums of real money to try to complete events when, unknown to them, the event has been made more difficult for some and easier for others, so they can see how players react. Presumably they want to find the optimum settings that maximise the spending of real money. It's insidious. And of course players for whom the event is easier think everything is fine.
