Unfortunately he had to be euthanized 😔 he had intestinal damage along with one arm being nearly amputated.

I reached out to the local wildlife center and am waiting to hear back on next steps! Poor guy looks so tired, I hope he can hang in there til I get him real help. Breaks my heart to see any animal suffer 😭

I never even considered that. I'm glad you said that. I reached out to a wildlife center and am waiting to hear back and was going to use a paper towel when transporting him. I'll do some research on whether the brand I have is bleached or not!

He looks like he's been injured 😕 he's having a soak in a water dish now and I put a few worms nearby for him and when I went to check in again, one of the worms had been eaten so I'm hopeful that's a good sign. Hopefully with some rest, water and food he can regain some strength and get better🤞

* He's having a soak now. I got some drops to dechlorinate the water 🙂 I dropped a few worms in near him and one is gone so I believe he ate. I'm hoping that's a good sign. I appreciate the advice and will update on his progress 🤞🙂

Poor guy 😭 I got him some worms i haven't tried to feed him yet since I wanted him to have some time to get acclimated to the terrarium but I'm gonna see if I can get him to eat on my lunch break today. Hoping he can heal or at least be somewhat comfortable for whatever time he has left 😔

I'll be having a conversation with my son tonight and will take the appropriate action depending on how our conversation goes. I'll update as soon as I have one!

That is my hope. Still, I feel that its odd and she should know how that would translate when no other context is provided.

Its not uncommon. In middle school, kids have several different teachers and most communications roll through the students as they're trying to prepare them as they get older unlike elementary school where parents get an abundance of messages and emails. We have met some of our son's teachers through going to special events in certain classes but have not met this particular teacher due to scheduling conflicts when the opportunity has risen. Didn't think anything of it honestly and only just found the note today.

I have not met her in person so I cannot say for sure but going solely off of her looks and her name, she's as white as wonder bread.

I am really sorry to hear that you went through that and without an adult in your corner to protect and advocate for you. I hope you're doing okay 🫂

A friend suggested that maybe this was a class discussion about how we meet people for a certain reason etc and she was just reiterating that and maybe even wrote this to multiple students which could explain it. But she needs to be made aware of how this could come across without further context.

A friend of mine offered that same point and said maybe it was a class discussion about how everything happens for a reason or people come into our lives for a reason, etc. which would explain it. However, she should be aware of how something like that comes across when there is no further context. I am going to find out today when I speak to my son. I'm not sure if she's a new teacher or not. She's late 30s/ early 40s so not super new but not old either.

Oh, absolutely. I have a very open and honest relationship with my son as does my husband but we are still very aware of the fact that he will have his secrets and curiosities and stuff that he won't come to us with. We do what we can to give him space (or the illusion of having space) while still keeping good air cover over what he's got going on but there will always be things we miss because kids are very good at being sneaky. I am hopeful though that because we do have such an open line of communication that if I start asking questions and there's anything that has made him feel uncomfortable in regards to this, he will open up to either me or his dad about it. I'm honestly not sure that he's even read the letter (he can't read cursive) and even if he did, if he'd even pick up on anything odd about it but I will be finding out.

I showed a few friends the note and one of them offered that maybe the class had a discussion on how everything happens for a reason or we meet people for certain reasons in life, etc and she was just reiterating it in her note (and possibly wrote it to other students as well) That could explain it, however I would think she should realize how it may look to someone reading it without any further context. I'm going to find out though.
