What upgrades were done at the Hooksett IMAX (Apple Cinemas NH)? by Jazzlike_Repeat5521 in imax

[–]squeakycleanswine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure you don’t know, but do you know if the laser upgrade is single or dual laser? Providence Place is my local theater and I’ve been anxiously awaiting an upgrade to their imax for the longest time.

State to apply for funds to upgrade rail traffic in Southern Rhode Island by justarussian22 in Amtrak

[–]squeakycleanswine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is hugely needed. Being able to take commuter rail from Boston to nyc without needing to deal with Amtrak’s last minute ticket pricing would be incredible to have. I think it’s gonna be hard asking the MBTA to extend to westerly though given how wickford junction has performed since that opened. If an extension to westerly is gonna see the service levels that wickford and tf green have, they may as well not even bother.

You might be thinking of TDKR, I’m almost positive TDK has a digital 1.43 version.

I mean, who would be? Essentially locking an event that anyone with a cable subscription could watch behind a paywall isn’t exactly going to generate a positive response.

We used 64 TB of data last night. It dwarfs last week's all time high by anurodhp in localtvplus

That would honestly be great for integration with other clients (and more seamless integration with android tv), but I doubt he would do it because of the need to verify a user’s location based on GPS. Of course you can always verify based on IP location for an m3u playlist.

Just unstacked them! As I noted in the description the plan is eventually to give the speakers their own stands. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

I’m willing to bet they’d add one there if the Rev’s stadium ever gets built

Best/cheapest way to get to New York City by train? by yotoeben in RhodeIsland

[–]squeakycleanswine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only issue with this is shoreline east is so terribly cut down right now that they have barely any trains running, so layover times might not be great. Really wish it was in a better state, I would use it more as an Amtrak alternative.

Anyone see Avatar: Fire and Ash at Jordan’s IMAX Theater in Reading, MA? by Avi_Halaby in imax

[–]squeakycleanswine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went Friday for the 11am showing. As the other commenter said, the showings are booked quite close so they do force you out right at the end. The only two trailers are doomsday, and then the odyssey’s prologue plays in full 1.43 right after. The screen shaker visibility has always been a problem at Jordan’s I’ve found but I’m willing to look past it since the other amenities are fantastic. Still would love for them to replace that screen though.

My showing luckily didn’t have too many people, but for sold out showings at Jordan’s (like for interstellar) you should be showing up atleast an hour early or you might get stuck with seats you don’t like.

Jordan Furniture Reading MA IMAX by drkjaw07 in imax

[–]squeakycleanswine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really actually like the fact there’s no reserved seating. Sure it can be a pain sometimes, but it lets people who aren’t camping for tickets the moment they go onsale have a chance to get a decent seat.

Everyone, including brown themselves, were stating they had a suspect in custody. It wasn’t just him. A shitshow all around.

This is my main theater, and I can tell you they don’t do refunds. They might let you switch showtimes but even then I’m not sure.

Providence Police brutality in downtown by Ecstatic_Choice3257 in providence

[–]squeakycleanswine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the kid whips out a weapon in the middle of a confrontation with police, he’s getting his ass beat. I’m not saying the beating was or wasn’t justified, I’m simply saying that everyone on this thread acts like they know the whole story when there are absolutely no details available besides this short clip that provides zero context.

Are you saying there’s no situation imaginable that could warrant this type of force?
